I have the crafting macro where the macro asks the number of the draft schematic to be used....my problem is that there doesn't seem to be an order to the numbering of the schematics in the data pad. Can someone please tell me how you pick the schematic you want to use....in other words how does the numbering of the schematics work.
Thanks in advance.

Trial and error. Seriously.
Open your datapad to your draft schematics. Don't sort them from their natural order. Then count down to the schem you want.
But it's very tricky. First, count only the schematics that are made by the tool you are using. Don't count CDEF weaponry, for example, if you're using an armor tool. Also, whether you're going to be standing next to a crafting station makes a diff. If you aren't (say you're grinding chest plates), don't count anything that requires a crafting station like segments, layers, cores, and components.
Launch your crafting tool, and type /sel # where # is the number of the schematic (or your best guess). See what schem the tool picks and then consult your datapad to see how far off you are. Try, try again.
Note that this number will change every time you train a box because you'll add more schems to your list.
