Im new to AS and I made my First primus layer and was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is good or not.. and What kind of numbers I should be shooting for to get the most outta my primus.

kin:11

Energy:11

Heat: -12

Cold -12

Acid -12

Electricity -12

this any good or did I just waste some resources ?

What you're seeing, or not seeing, is a display bug. The stats on layers don't update when you're experimenting. Once you make a schem and run it through a factory, the layers will come out fine. Check the bug thread for more info on this.

BTW, my pimus layers are 44 kinetic and energy, just for a point of comparison.

To fully understand all this you should really have checked the FAQ's in the sticky section at the top, they will help you a lot. But to answer your question:

1) This could be the display bug if you have hand crafted them. If so, then look to the % you were able to experiment to on these layers for a rough guide. Any experimentation you get over 90-95% will mean the layers are good.

2) If these are from a factory run and showing the correct stats:-

The max bonus from a single primus layer is +50 to Kin/Energy and -51 to Special protections. So looking at your layer, it's not very good at all. You can have a max of 12 layers in each segment, leading to a total possible bonus of +600 to Kin/Energy. Your layers if all the same stats as the one you posted will give you a bonus of 132 which simply isn't worth the effort of making all the layers and the resources you'll be using.

If you want to make good layers which will actually be worthwhile in terms of the final bonus you get on your armor, then you will need 900-950+ averages from your OQ/SR as a general rule of thumb. The exception to this rule is with the Neutronium Steel, which has a hard cap on the SR stat of 765. If you are unfamiliar to crafting in general, then this means that a 765 SR rated neutronium steel is effectivelyviewed by the craftingcode just like a 1000 SR resource whichdoes not have a hard cap. You will also hear these caps referred to as "gates".

Hope this helps, and don't forget to read up on all the FAQ's/Stickies/Guides, they'll help you immensely

wow thx guys.. yeah im a 12 point AS (maxed that first before i even started ASing) and I experimented on it and nothing happened.. and I was like.. well huh?.. this sucks.. i had some decent stuff too..i can try putting it in the factory and see what I got then.. I was told my experiment was an amazing success so Im sure those numbers are better than I thought. I am making these layers to make my first suit of armor heeh RIS. So hopefully after the bug It'll show me some better stats..

Just so you won't be too disappointed, an amazing success will do nothing for your layer stats. Amazing, huh?
