as a new(ish) armoursmith still climbing the ladder, I've gone for techinique and layers in my first couple of steps.

How much XP do you get for a Ubese shirt and what kind of resource input do i need ?

I think it is iron, steel, and plast with no subcomponents, but I do not remember for sure. It has been a while since I have made one.

I did the mabari chestplate method, you get more XP per item, but a whole lot of clickin'.

Good luck to you !!

Hello Armoursmiths (or Armorsmiths if your US based)

I am a Master Tailor on Chimaera, and am frequently asked these days if I can make Ubese Shirts, Padded belts and Mabari belts.

I have taken Novice Armoursmith and can now craft Mabari belts and it has been good for business, however I wish to grind up to 3xxx AS so I can also craft padded belts and Ubese shirts for my customers too.

I have checked through the stickies for the easiest way to grind up the AS trees, but this seems a little out of date as it states that Armour Repair Tools are the thing to craft, however these are now obsolete and uncraftable. So basically what I am asking is what is the best way in which to grind up to level 3xxx in Armoursmith currently?

Many thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Kindest regards,

Co-Co

Welcome to the AS boards

Many people are factory-running segments, then cores, and then making mabari chests. Others are hand-crafting cores and using them in arm pieces. I have not tried to grind out xp in a while (18 months or so ), but it appears that the removal of AUKs made it more difficult to get to 3000 from novice since everything of worth requires umpteen matching subcomponents.

Good luck!

Oops I see I said armour repair kits when I meant upgrade kits, but you knew what I meant.

I have always had respect for your profession, but now analysing the complexity of some of your crafting and the serious nature of your grind, I appreciate you all the more

Thanks for your help thus far. Anyone else able to comment on good grinding methods?

The two ways he said are really the only ways. There is nothing that really gives more that 100xp per piece and doesn't justify the insane resouce costs that go into them. It is tedious until you get to ubese shirts and then you can grind on them...of course that's when you plan to stop!

It occurs to me that you won't have much of a color palette to work with unless you master or at least go 3004 AS.
