OK, I am new to AS have 3003 right now. I tried to make myself a couple of ubese shirts with slots but can't come up with anything even with an amazing success. I used some very good resources too. Any help would be appreciated.

Sockets are completely random, unrelated to resource quality or crafting success.

With tailors it was tied to the assembly/experiment tree, at 0,0,0,4 tailors get 4 sockets sometimes. And I'm telling you this cause I'm not sure if it's the same with AS or not. Try getting the fourth box of the experiment line and it may let you get 4 sockets occasionally with ubese shirts. But you may have to wait till master. not sure.

At master it takes me around 10 tries to get a 4 socket ubese shirt.

Pyollian Cake is very helpful for achieving 4 sockets, from my experience.
