Thread: Becoming an armor/weaponsmith
Really is no "easy" way.You could grind to Masters in each, but then have no clue on how to make armor and weapons.
The crafting part isn't too bad (really helps if you enjoy making armor-weapons), its getting the resources where the real work is.
Real Suggestion...
Don't do both!!!!
Select the one you want to do, then just do that one and save yourself a lot of headache and the shere number of schematics you will have will just bogle your mind... Plus then You will never have heads or tails on witch resouce you will need to mine this week if you do both...
Just because they are attached to the same tree does not mean it you should do them in conjunction with each other...

I did the grind to both AS and WS on one of my alts., simply because I am going through 2-3 sets of armor a week. I did AUKs till PAIII, then did Ubese shirts all the way till master. I did not stop to create one single piece of armor unitl I hit master. Now that I am done with AS, Im tinkering, finding out what works and what doesn't work, while playing the waiting game on resources. Since I don't plan on being a mass-production smith, Im not concerned with a super-dense customer base. All I want to do craft custom suits using the gobs and gobs of loot drops I have, meaning I wont waste them with inferior resources. Thus, I am waiting for all of my resources to reach a base-floor of 900 oq/900 sr, where applicable. If it takes 6 months total, so be it.
For WS, I just did the standard grind, barrels, more barrels, adv barrels and more adv barrels. I picked very specific weapons to focus on, and now have the resources I want, at the quality levels I have set.
I hated grinding up the trees, but now at master in each, I truly enjoy the hand-crafting process.
