ive been working on getting as close to capped primus battle armor as possible last few days. Today i started putting my cores together and testing a few of them in arm pieces.
all cores were made using primus layers ...
kinetic/energy 44
base -45
experimented to 90% on the segments which came out as
kinetic/energy 1339
experimented to 90% on first core which came out as
kinetic/energy 6188
and then i changed my fiberplast to something a bit better...
experimented to 93% on the second core which came out as
kinetic/energy 6296
now when assembling the 2 arm pieces they BOTH came out the same final stats...
kinetic/energy 6543
am i missing something here? shouldnt the second one be higher than the first one? any help is appreciated.

Yep, you're missing something. This has come up a lot recently.
Bottom line is your layer stats have nothing at all to do with the stats of your cores. Once you cap your cores at 5600, upgrading your resources to raise the protection of the cores past 5600 is a waste. To really understand the effect your layers have, add their protection to the final stats of your armor.

Yeah, hitting the cap on segments/cores isn't all too hard. Only way to go above that is to cap your layers.

Yup, it's cores resists + layer resists as a bonus... not cores + layers = resists.
