Thread: Question about Resources

I was looking here:

http://www.swgcenter.com/resource_tree/resources.asp

And noticed that on SS some of these inorganics do not exist on Talus.

Is it that different worlds have different minerals, or heaven forbid, different Galaxies have different minerals?

Examples: Fiberplast on Talus on SS is called Exaulo, under "Talusian Fiberplast". The database has a number of Coppers listed, but not Arahris, Amoreris or Ohibinoid which are the three Coppers on Talus.

The answer will affect those trying to put up databases to help the rest of us. Does anyone know the answer to this?

I just asked that same question in a different Thread. I saw ofimoa, but didn't see it in the resource list that I could survey. I think the site is from beta and it has a few of the resources that are in the game. I didn't even find Awiogar, which, from what I have found so far, is the best metal to use for weapons due to its high conductivity and overall rating. But Ofimoa would be the best to use, but it isn't in the game. Do resource listings change from planet to planet?

Yes, resources spawn dynamically just like creatures, they just last longer. Eventually though the resource deposits on a planet will dry up, and new resources will show up. Thus, each planet and each galaxy will have different resources types and from what I've heard, though not proved as of yet, the stats that come with a resource are randomly generated so that theoretically 2 materials with the same name could have different attributes.

Just my thoughts, do with them what you will.

Yes. Different planets have different resources.

So, if I were to go to a different planet then my surveying tool's resource listings would change to different resources?

Not sure if this belongs here or in the Artisan Tree, but I was hoping to get some clarification, from a dev if possible.

Is a single resource, say Vokatso
will this Aluminum ALWAYS have the same prpperties, across all servers and whenever it happens to spawn. or are the prpperties independanty of the name and determined when the resource is placed?

Question: I’ve tried to get an answer on this before, but no one seems to know. Are the various resources in the game created via a random generator? All the stats are random, the name is random. Or is there a list of resources that is permanent. Example. Yesterday I mined Heji Steel, Today its gone…but someday in the futre…..Heji Steel will return, same name, same stats…

From dev posts during Beta I was led to believe that the name may recurr, but the stats would likely be different.

I plan on becoming a master Doc, and I just want to know what type of resources I'll be needing to make the best meds and enhancements I can. So if anyone could help me out and tell me what is usually used through out the skills in Doctor, that would really help. Thanks

Well for basic organics and inorganics...just get stuff 900OQ or better for great results. As for specific resources, start stocking up on Lok Wheat, Talus Water, Tatooine Fiberplast, Herbivore Meat, Liquid Petrochem 4, Dolovite Iron, Domesticated Oats, Dantooine Berries. These will get you going on the basic Advanced Components. After that youll need a few more like Yavan Fiberplast, Eleton gas, Radioactive 1, Titanium Aluminum....etc.

For organics, you want 900+ OQ and PE. The rest of constan's advice I'd agree with. Note that his second list of resources (the one that starts with Yavin Fiberplast) is for CM items, not doc items.
