Ok I was brainstorming and these are some ideas for smiths that have mastered but aren't 12 point. There's no question it's a challenge, but with some creative ideas you can make it.
- Pick an exotic specialization. Custom Padded Armor (maybe this is not even that exotic) but is certainly a good way to go. Ithorian Armor could also be an untapped market.
- Make cheap 80% kinetic composite.. always a good market.
- Make some unusual suit types: 80% blast armor for c12 village grinders for example
- Get RIS certified (ok a little expensive but not that bad) and make noninterwoven RIS for cheap, custom
- Presliced armor (alot of work but you can sell some nice pieces for good cash)
- If you're 10 point, get those cheap +1 attachments.. they'll get you to 11 point, which can help alot.
- If you must buy the "uber" resources for high end armor, buy small amounts and offer to make custom suits for people.
- Buy cheap janta hides from bazaar and make some cool janta enhanced armor. Maybe try NS shards...

Well thought out ideas. When I was 10 pt I did that uber resources hand made custom suit thing... I could run into Coronet and shout... hey i'm not afk and I have completed great suits on me... I sold 5 in 10 minutes one time lol
Also preslice works well... one new armorsmith I know on my server sold some 90 base pieces for up to 500k recently... my server is sort of elite and dishes out the cash for what they want

Nah, there's just still tens of billions of Sunn's (or was it Sonn?) duped credits still floating around ![]()
Glad to see you as an armorsmith. I think I still have some of your LLC's kicking around Caswell's bank box.

Definately make cheap 80% Kiniectic suits, put them in bags ad sell. janta Hides is a nice Idea, put them in stun enhance comp armor. Would be nice.

Why are soo many people obsessed with 80% kin comp to fight critters in when you can make 80% ubese for 1/3 the cost and its soo light you can hunt with or with out buffs? and if you buy a few suits and get lucky you can put an encumsliced suit together that would have about 200-250 ham??
is it people just dont really know how armor works or are they just dupped into thinking that kin comp is the only thing to use?
Chitin is another Great armor that people dont use to hunt in which i have no idea why you can hit 70+ kin on this stuff Or go for a more balanced and still get a 45 kin 35 base for cheap mission armor..
Or even use cheap mabari, and put a voritor enhancement. This stuff has basically no ham and can knock 60% of the damage and you will regen like crazzy.
Ive been a master since launch and just started on a new server and have no desire to master again,, well atleast not atm. But i did grab novice and im making cheap mabari suits and voritor mabari.. even at novice not having but 1 exp point its nice armor for low end - mid range mobs.. and im selling it for 3k a suit for the non enhanced and 25k a suit for voritor.. Great armor for next to nothing costs. The best part is you dont need to replace it as its not gonna drop much in protection Soo by a bunch of suits encumslice um and put cheap attachments in it and you have a great suit of armor to use for all but the toughest mobs Soo you can load up cheap attachments and have a sweet enhancment suit. Trust me it works : )
Another great armor is Stun or energy layer ubese.. the armor works great and is super light compared to comp and is great to run NPC missions, or Npc spawsn
yea sure these armors are more specialized than the kin/Stun comp stuff but who cares.. the other armors have there place and in many cases can be much better than any kin comp some 12 point smith makes.. If your hunting critters in kin comp then your just wasting your money and definatly not getting the most out of your armorer
God i cant wait for combat revamp ./grin

I think there are two reasons people like kinetic comp:
a) they use buffs, so encumbrance doesn't really matter
b) the condition of the armor is much higher than ubese, so even if you can make ubese of that resist, it will last about half as long (if i remember right)
So if comp lasts twice as long as ubese, and costs about twice as much (which it seems to) then they are basically the same thing, except you get more ham from the ubese, but you also have to go shopping more often. Basically a matter of preference in the end I think.
Then there's always the chance you'll get shot at.. if you're in ubese you really can't handle energy damage well (say if you're faction farming for example). And for really high end mobs composite is a must. Really can't imagine someone who solos NS elders showing up in ubese
I like ubese alot for when i'm unbuffed though, that is a big plus.

Ubese is fine unless you are fighting NPC's. You will be screwed when an NS whips out a power hammer or something. If you are just hunting creatures they are great.
Another problem is on our server you can only make 78% ubese but that ins't really worth putting resources into. Nobody wants to pay 250-300k for an ubese suit. I sell 74 and 75% for 100-130k and any higher percents are not worth making.

well really that was my whole point.. All armors have there place, and ubese sure has its place too. As for charging 300k for a suit of ubese i find that funny id never even think of making it that expensive. I made 78% ubese and sold it for 85k for a long long time. Soo by my clac thats 3+ suits for the cost of one suit of comp.. But im not here to debate price but i will tell you this. the regen difference in a light suit of ubese more than makes up for the 2-4% youi would gain in useing heavy comp.
As i said too,, there are many lvl mobs.. But then agian some gamers like to go fulliy buffed in 90% kin comp and use there 1337 krayt pistol and kill kaadu.. to each his own i guess

Thank you, Furia! ^_^
These are some excellent suggestions, I'm likely to be jumping on at least one of them soon. I've been wondering what to do - I've got great resources, but only 10 points, and it just doesn't work out well sometimes. ^_^
Thanks again!

I happen to think people have underappreciated Chitin.
Let me tell you, I certainly did until some recent excursions into the Tusken Bunker.
I went into the Tusken bunker before with my first nicely crafted suits since making master, some 50% Kin, 40% Base chitin (I can hit 60% Kin, 30% Base as well, but I opted for balance). I took some shots in there, but overall, I was able to mill about, get loot, and hold my own, until I decided to leave.
Then I got my hands on some great Axidite and Neutronium, and was able to make 70-73% Kin, 19%Base Ubese. Let me tell you, since crafting and wearing that armor, I have not been able to hit up the bunker without dying since. Before, I was able to stand up to a fleet of Tuskens - with the 70% Ubese, which I would have thought would have been great for kinetic-happy tuskens, I die if more than 2 reds come at me.
Overall, there is a vast underappreciation for the armors.

Hehe, man do I remember those days. Actually, I sort of got out of Weaponsmithing rather fast. Been AS for ages now.
