What is a good pet to use if I'm just starting out as CH? Right now I'm 0.0.0.1, and am using my vicious attack kaadu to harass gnorts...

Actually, that's not a bad way to go. Upgrade the victims to chubas and you'll get more XP.

The classic n00b CH pet is probably the cu pa; I like the wrix myself, because they're wicked fast, like all the cats. Take on n00b mobs outside the cities, let the critter get a hit in, then finish it off with your range weapon. The pet only needs to score a single hit for you to get the CH XP.

Key thing to remember is you get the XP based on the strength of your pet vs. the prey; the stronger the prey relative to your pet, the higher the CH XP.

One more point:

Taming wrix can be an adventure all in itself, because aggro mottled wrix hang out around every wrix lair, where you might find a wrix baby.

I tamed my wrix on Talus, and right after I tamed it my maskscent broke and a mottled wrix was on me like a duck on a june bug. Fortunately, I had some friends nearby who intervened and prevented me from being DBd by the mottled wrix; unfortunately, one of the friends DID get DBd by the mottled. We were not far from Daeric and he rejoined us shortly thereafter, so the hunt wasn't delayed very long.

I still have the wrix, although she doesn't get out much anymore; we spent many hours hunting gubbers, durni, and Corellian butterflies outside of Doaba Guerfel, Kor Vella, and Coronet as I was working my way up the ladder. I even took her on Tortur hunts on Talus...she got stomped a few times, I'm afraid...

The other thing that would be good to know is given that the resources are not up to scratch what are the things that need to be improved on each food so that it is of any value at all to customer.

For example, my Brandy is +215,49fill and just about sells on Kette, so with the Veg canape what are the critical elements to get right?

thanks

Your pet first has to be taught the command "group". Which you get at Creature Management I. Um. I think

You can't group a pet until you've trained Creature Management I, which grants you the group command.

You must train the pet in the command, thenyou can /say or /tellpet the command, and you should get the message "your pet has been invited to join your group". If you're already in a group and issue the group command to your pet, you must be close (no more than 20m away) from the group leader for the pet to join the group.

Yeah, I understand that. Sorry for not making it clear. I had a more advanced CH mountmy lovely lvl11 Kaadufor me /shudder and added that command as well. So what you are saying that I STILL will not be able to group it until I get Creature Management I: Group Organization?

Check your datapad, and see if the other CH trained the group command, and what the command is. I use "group" for all my pets, but other CHs may have other conventions.

It's also possible that the CH who trained the mount didn't train the command. I know that I only trained two commands for CHs I sold mounts too during the great mount rush; train as mount, and transfer. I let them train all the other commands for XP (I was a maxed out on XP MCH at the time).
