Thread: Night Sister Armor Shards
I have about 50 of these honeys. Some are so-so. Some are very good. My question is, how manyshardscan be usedin a piece of composite armor? Do they stack? For example, can i stack 4 -18 Mind shards in a helmet? Probably not. Too go to be true.
Here's what I have:
9, Base Eff = 7%, Act Encum = -33
3, Base Eff = 4%, Act Encum = -9
13, Base Eff = 3%, Act Encum = -5
5, Health Encum = -14, Act Encum = -14, Mind Encum = -14
9, Health Encum = -44, Act Encum = -15, Mind Encum = -18
12, Health Encum = -10, Act Encum -10, Mind Encum = -10
Can anyone recommend a good deployment of these into a composite suit?
Any info that you can give me would be very much appreciated.
OK I hope im doing this in laymans terms, just incase you dont understand.
The base 'unit' of armourcrafting is the segment... each piece of armour needs 1 or more segment to be made. For example, a composite chest needs 4 segments, gloves need 1 and the rest scale as appropriate.
Each segment can have 1 'enhancer' which is usually a scale (for example, krayt scales) or things like nightsister shards or janta hides.
Now each of the segments used in a particular armour piece need to be made in a factory or have the same serial number (for example, krayt segments are fully assembled segments, but all of them used in one particular piece of armour need to have the same serial)
What this means is that if youve got a stack of 10 nightsister loot drop components, they can be made into upto 9 segments (assuming no fails) since 1 is used up in the schematic creation process.
So total up all the components you have, subtract 1 from each stack, and that will be the number of potential segments you can create.
Now for example in composite, you need the following segments per piece:
Chest - 4 segs
Helm/Legs - 3 segs
Arms/Boots - 2 segs
Gloves - 1 seg
So if you have acrate of 9 finished (post factory production) segments, you can potentially make a chest, a helm and and arm piece for example.
Now the downside to this of course is that for things like the chest for instance, which needs 4 segments, only the values for 1 of the segments+enhancers is counted, rather than all added together, so all your armoru will come out at the same result, it's just a lot more costly in loot components to make a chest for instance as opposed to a set of gloves.
Thank you Lomar4976 for the detailed explanation. I'm going to 5 star you when I finished writing this ![]()
What a shame the values don't stack, but multiple shards must be used. Like I said, it was too good to be so ![]()
Thanks again.
