Hi , I just got back from months of absence ( ok who cares...) and everything has changed 
can someone please tell me or direct me to a site/thread that update me on which armor can be worn by all different races and professions?

That would be in the FAQs. The Post CU Guide for Customers or some such.
In summary, wookiees and ithorians still have their own armor. Trandos still can wear boots and gloves, but that's okay because those are no longer hit locations. Everyone else can wear everything (including RIS) except Imperial faction armor helmets. Those are limited to humans and zabraks.
