please can someone help me? it takes 25500 fp's to get a set of armour schems, if i delegate from my fighting char, then i need to multiply by 2,33 or 2.34. as it can take an age to get fps how has anyone else got around this problem? have you bought the fp's? is there a better way of getting a 1 to 1 delegate rate? any help gratefully appreciated, The three Z's

The higher rank you are, the less it costs to delegate.

Private delegation ratio is 6.67:1 Colonel delegation ratio is 1.177:1

You also need to buy your schems on a planet where te rebs have the greatest advantage... the greater the advantage the lower the "price" in FP.

As stated above, buy on the planet where the war is heaviest in your side's favor. Under the best condition I have seen, I was able to purchase a full suit's worth of schems for 12k faction or so. Always delegate from a colonel. Always have inspiration buffs on when gaining faction - having your delegator buffed means they get 10% more as they gain faction (be it from combat of smuggler bribes), and having one one yourself means you get a 10% bonus to whatever they delegate to you. If you do it properly, you can fully negate the 17% colonel delegation penalty. IE, 100% (normal gain) + 10% (delegator has buff when gaining) = 110%, 110% * 83% (17% delegation penalty) = 91%, 91% +10% (you having the buff on when it is delegated to you)~ 100%.

Wow, I didn't know about this.

Thanks.

If you're a armormsith/smuggler, you can buy your own faction and lose nothing since you don't have to delegate.

And give up tailor?! As if... Tailor and smuggler are both great support/companion classes for AS that one gets too used to having. I know having the ability to whip out an outfit at a moment's notice is something that I just can't fathom giving up. I think I would feel the same way about smuggling skills if I had them. I spent a few days during respec as a master smuggler on my alt and was loathe to give it up! So many little conveniences....

Pre CU I was master tailor, AS, and merchant. I dropped tailor and don't miss it much. I haven't had much trouble finding tailors to fill orders for me. I like to spread a little wealth to that group. Now being a smuggler is a BIG money and time saver.

I enjoy tailoring as much as smithing, if not more. I even run a habadasherie when time permits Since I can go in space and get faction fairly quickly on my own and have a few good friends who are master smugglers, Tailor is the more indespensible skill for me. My gf is one, but she stopped playing a while ago, and I am too da*n picky about my clothes to not be the one making them or at least looking at the palette in the same room as the person who is

It is just a situational thing. If a bunch of my friends were tailors, I'd consider being a smuggler instead.

Smugglers also get beer and pie.

Come to the pie side.

I'm not being an A$$ but alts are the way to go. I have a BH/Smug alt who keeps me in FP and loot.
