Hi folks, I enjoy crafting a great deal. I started this game as an architect and then went on to manufacturing doctor supplies.
I hope this profession is a good one and that money can be made if I provide quality items.
Can any of you offer assurances or pop my bubble?

I just made master, too, but without any stops in-between, mostly.. I'm a master artisan, but that doesn't really count as a side trip all that much *grin*. I, too, love crafting. I just got some of my sub-components out of the factory this morning and went to put to gether my first master set of Ubese and nearly fainted for all the colours.. ooooo look at all the pretty colours... Not that I won't be making about 80% of my orders in boring boring black, but I can wear colours and hopefully influence others to wear colours, too.
Now if I can just get the resources to get better than 4% better than my pre-master stuff. Only 4% gained *sigh* Oh wait... that's about right, I think.

Congrats and welcome to the craft!!
You will make money... How much you make depends on how much work you want to put in (just like life). Some Masters pull in 5+million per day. There is light at the end of the tunnel! I promise!

Better get them before publish 7. After that, inflation is going to hit everyone hard.

Agreed. I forecast a rise in pricing for about 2-3 months on all high-end products because it will be much more difficult to produce/achieve the stats that everyone has become accustomed to. Hopefully, the economy/market will level itself out after that timeframe. It will take a while for people to get used to items that aren't as powerful pre-nerf.
Now, the pre-nerf market (which was created by the devs) will be an ongoing problem/opportunity for approximately 6 months from Publish 7. It's pretty crappy of the devs not acknowledging the out of control economies with rampant inflation. Instead of helping with money sinks, they compound the problem by creating a *HUGE* pre-nerf market and nerfing *EVERYTHING* that is player crafted.
Everything will turn out ok in the end, its the transition period that's going to be hard for everyone. Keep in mind, I am totally against this nerf. I love being able to create products with maxed out stats and resists, but there's not much we can do about it at this point. Looks like the devs have made up their mind. Go with the flow, and you'll make a killing off the pre-nerf market if you handle it correctly.

Ahh, but you see our young apprentice...
This profession requires some of those annoyingly rare resources. Keep an eye out for Kiirium Steel, Colat Iron, Beyrllious Copper...just watch the schematics and start stockpiling... in this profession as in architect (i recently dropped master architect) you can NEVER EVER have enough materials
it is time to horde them all!
