Hey,

I'm thinking about making my new character into a TKA Master / 4040 Scout / Master Armormsith / 4034 Artisan. I've been researching about becoming an armormsith and the complexity of the job. I thought 4040 scout would help me becuase I could harvest lots of hide while I'm grinding up TKA.

So I guess my question is: is armorsmith more difficult to do than the other advanced crafting professions (weaponsmith, architecht, DE, Tailor, Chef, Bio-Engineer)? Is it worth it?

Please note that I'm a master Weaponsmith on Naritus (named Olmaal Ackiv, member of FAITH) and enjoy weaponsmith very much, but I think it is much easier than Armorsmith would be in terms of resources needed and complexity of the items produced.

You get used to it after a while.

It is more complicated than architect in the sense you have to experiment a lot more with components, ie layers.

Really it's one of the fastest to grind through? I'd better get started on my character then!

Armorsmith is by far the most difficult advanced crafting profession. I dare any weaponsmith to disagree, I've done both.

The difficulty with WS is that you have to have best resources that have EVER spawned on the server to make the best weapons.

I know what you're saying. A great spawn of ostrine ore just popped up on Naritus with an OQ of over 900. I could only find a 48% spot, and my friends who help me with resource hunting couldn't find anything better. So I plopped down all 7 of my medium mineral harvesters.

The only thing easier about Weaponsmith is that they don't have to worry about hides or bone. Still a difficult profession also.

Look on the bright side. If you have lots of money and resourcesarmorsmith isone of the quickest professions to grind.

I'd say weaponsmith is the most difficult in practice. The grind is long, the resources rare. It's a relatively easy profession to learn though. Generally speaking it's all about damage doesn't leave alot of room for much else.

Armorsmith, the resources are a little bit easier to come by... except for bone and hide. But even that is better, composite doesn't use a specific planetary hide. So you've generally got 7 tries a week to get a good resource shift. The grind is much easier and goes quicker than weaponsmith also. And there is more depth I believe to the profession in terms of crafting. It's not a profession that someone picks up as quickly as they can weaponsmithing. It can't be understated it's by far the easiest of the elite crafting grinds....

There is more money in armorsmithing.
