how many droped at once and was it at the kimo city or just a random spawn?

I've looted the generic armor component but not the one for RIS armor... not sure if the RIS one is dropping or not.

Sorry for the slow response. The RIS scales only drop one at a time and its about 1/30 for me on Bloodfin. I am told that every drop kicks off a 14 hour timer so, at most, there can be 1 drop per day. What the timer means is that if the GDK drops the RIS scale, it will be at least another 14 hours before another drops. That doesn't mean that another will drop in 14 hours, it means that in 14 hours there will be a chance for one to drop. I have never seen a GDK anywhere but kimo town. The best method to getting a scale is to hardcore camp the spawn. If you kill about 15 in a row, you're almost guaranteed a scale. That's provided that you are able to loot every single corpse. My luck has been about 1 scale every 30 or so, but I take breaks from time to time. Don't know how bad the camping is on your server, but on Bloodfin its almost always totally empty except on weekends. If yours is anything like mine, you should have no excuse for not being able to kill about 30 per week if that's all you do. Depends on how much free time you have I suppose, but if you make a habit of logging out at the spawn, and logging back in whenever you get the chance just for the kill, its not time consuming at all. That's my advice.

I have killed a number of them..not near the 30 mark though, and have only looted the segments sofar.
maybe i will try the camping method, as i can dispatch these GDK in like 10-15 minutes now i got MasterRifleman.
Also it helps if you have a spare heavy mineral harvester handy to drop in a strategic place

On Saturday (April 03), I found a spawn of 2 GDKs on the volcano. I killed them till they stopped spawning in, 20 total, looted 1 scale.

Every so often GDK show up at the spot where my friends and I have our houses/PA hall. Sometimes its part of a lair, other times its just a GDK wild spawn. I always kill it when it shows up (if I'm buffed, cant solo it unbuffed) but have only ever got regular armor components.
