While i work my up the armoursmith tree from novice, i may as well stick some harvies down to start on my months of stockpiling i'll no doubt need while i learn the craft.

Can someone please point in the direction of a list of what resources i require please.

I understand that i need to look for OQ + SR >1800? for decent stuff but never less that >1600. is that right?

(its all a bit confusing to me atm, as i still have doctor in my brain)

You should aim for those qualities, yes.

As for the items you will need the most, metal-wise...

anyAmorphous Gemstonefor Kinetic Armor Layers, probably the most requested form of armor on most servers is Kinetic-reinforced armor.

The following is a listing of things you need for certain armors, but not all the items needed to make that armor. Just the metals.

Composite:

Polysteel Copper

Colat Iron

Beyrllius Copper (rare at times on Flurry, at least at decent quality)

Intrusive Ore

Padded:

Cubirian Steel

Duralloy Steel

Ubese Armor:

Axidite Iron (fairly rare, at least on Flurry)

Neutronium Steel (VERY rare on Flurry)

Chitin:

Doonium Iron

And thats about it for all the armors we have. If you want to make Stun segments (which all armors have as a vulnerability) then you will need to try to locate Vertex Crystalline Gemstone which I havent had the luck to see spawn the past 3 months I've been an armorsmith on Flurry.

Thanks VERY much for these replies. I will take it all onboard. Im finding it hard to get good advice ingame as people assume im just another hologrinder which is a shame. (the only holo ive had is the xmas pressie and that said merchant lol).

I really fancy armoursmith so im quite pleased ive reached novice and can start the journey ahead.

thanks again.

Armorsmith is a long grind, even longer if you arent actually grinding. Took me about 5 days of grinding to get it... and I've had it for 5 months now. I enjoy it very much and dont plan on dropping it anytime in the near future.

Glad to be of some help. If you have any other questions I guess just post them here, or send me a PM and I'll try my best to answer.

Another handy tool to help you is the Armorsmith Dictionary that Nathan and I have been putting together. Download the MS Excel spreadsheet and it will detail all the resources needed for all armors.

Here's the thread:

Couple of things.

Stun layers take crism siliclastic ore in addition to vertex crystalline gemstone. Both are relatively rare spawns.

Don't forget HIDES! Ubese takes both leathery and wooly, composite takes wooly. Same qualities matter in hides as in metals etc. Check swgcraft.com for other armor hide and bone requirements if you intend to make them. If you or your friends have any harvesting skills, try to get your own hides. Good wooly can go for 50-100 cpu, and it takes a lotta time to get a good bundle even when good quality spawns.
