Thread: Advance Padded Questions from NewB AS
On the questions in this thread:
1) There is a surprisingly large market once you get above 70% in a popular special resist, for instance useing 2 kinetic layers.
2) A base of 40%+ would be decent. 45% good, 50%+ near perfect (unless you use high base layers of coarse).
3) Selling 75% kinetic padded at barely above my 80% kinetic composite price. Justifying this with the high cost, still selling like hotcakes.
4) Maybe. Composite is alot easier, since you can easily massproduce it and get loads of sales. With padded most will want customcoloration hence massproduction goes out the window.
WarTorn: Speaking of this chestplate? Made useing theese segments. (experimentation hit 80% base way before the resources capped). Or perhaps you were thinking of what some guy did with 110% (120%?) base ackley segments some time back?
Padded armor is heavy...period.
I have good resources for it. Unlayered, I'm hitting 42-43% base. I just made a suit last night and now remember why I don't make the stuff. It's heavy.I can get 50-60% base on comp with the same HAM.
That being said, it sure looks nice. I plan to make myself a set experimented to lower encumbrance, but you won't see me fighting in it.
So far, this is the only armor that I've seen that the looted segments are useful in. They keep the weight down and the resists aren't terrible.
Yeah just as a change I have been making some for folks on Gorath bored and wanting some color. To reduce encumberance I went with Heat layers based on my Mal on resources and I'm pushing out a 50% base with HAM below most base composite. Is it a better choice then composite? No. But it looks cool and the color schemes are fun.
I see my role to be at least partially to have my city and server having fun. Padded is s small relief from my 75% Ubese or 70% Base composite!
Try it out....people enjoy it! Women love the pink on pink or white on white! ![]()
