I was going to make some Armor and the schematic says I need 4 identical armor segments from a factory crate. My question is, is this the only way to get these identical segments? I can't find a factory crate of armor segments anywhere. Do most AS have factories in which you produce crates of identically serial numbered armor segments? Any help would be great! Thanks

Yes, a factory is the only way to get them.

If you're planning to be a serious Armorsmith then you should most definately get at least one wearables factory to make segments and layers at least. Master smiths tend to run the finished armor in factories as well, as they don't need the XP from crafting them individually(and thus a lot of masters own multiple factories).

Also there is a PSG component that must be run in a factory as well, for any shields higher than Mk1.

Factories are pretty much mandatory for anyone seeking to be an advanced crafter of any profession.
