Thread: Petition to make HAM mean something
I brought this up in another post with some other ideas. Even though some of the other ideas were controversial this one didn’t seem to bring up any arguments. From the very beginning I don’t believe it was intended to allow the use of Buffs to wear Armor over your base stats. It’s simple something that slipped through and really didn’t seem to mater. I believe it’s really important to get this through now before they start looking at ways to Nerph Armor. I will list some of the reasons I believe this is very important now.
1 This would act as a Self Nerph to Armor
Armorsmiths would have to lower their own base % to put more points into HAM. As it stands right now Armorsmith is a No brainier. Just dump all your points into Base % and the left over into HAM. Armor would have to be designed with the HAM in mind.
2 Secondary stats mean nothing.
Every PvP Player I know simple set their secondary stats to minimum. Why have any points there because you simple run off buffs. Again I believe it was never intended to allow Armor to be higher then your base stats.
3 RIS Armor & other Armor.
Most other Armor is based off lower HAM. At this point very few people wear Other Armor because they simple get Buffs to wear that Composite Tank. Even Armor like Padded would be more useful because of the Lower HAM Cost.
4 ID Skill
The ID Skill would get a big Boost because people would be constantly changing their Secondary stats to match their Armor.
5 Loot Items would mean more.
Most loot components are based off lower HAM for the %. At this point they aren’t used much because of that. Just think how much NS Layers and shards would mean after this.
5 It would Simple make Armorsmithing more fun.
I know on Bloodfin only stun seems to sell at this point. You simple crank out full sets of Stun that weigh the Max and people get buffs to wear it. We would actually have to look at the different Areas and match the right Armor. It would add a new level to Armorsmithing.
These are just a few reasons I feel this is important and needs to be done now before they start looking at other ways to Nerph Armor. This would take almost no time and trouble to put in. It would still leave all Armor usable but you would have to match pieces different.
