Hey guys, a long while ago I once was an AS (the first month or 2 of launch), combat has become boring and I was wondering if jumping back on that train would be worth it? How hard would it to be successfull in a mature market? Is AS as fun as it used to be? Would I want to keep a combat skill like TKM for loot farming (aka NS armor fragments)? And how hard is it to get an AS company rolling without having much money ( A little under 1 mil) Thanks for the replies

I've been a Master Armorsmith since about last July or August, I still enjoy it a lot.

It is a challenge and I learn new things all the time in this trade, Give it a whirl.

I got master AS a few months ago, and yeah, IMO its still fun. it can be a bit time consuming but its fun. and depending on your server I imagine affects how much money you need. I'm on Bloodfin and it takes a good deal of credits to run stuff. and yeah. being in a guild will help alot. I'm unguilded and at times I struggle since I need to either do contracts for stuff I need or find it myself. all in all a fun prof, but very cut-throat. its either sell alot or odds are go broke

I hear a lot of talk about how difficult it is to break into the market with all the established guys and 12-pointers. I don't buy it. I've been a master AS for about 2 months and my business is doing just fine. I make 6-7 million credits a week, and I'm just a 10-point smith. Those extra experimentation points are nice and I'm working on getting them but you can still make money without them.

Bottom line is, if you can make good armor and have a decent location, you will make money.

That's just it, it's all about the materials you use.

Anyone can master Armorsmith and make crappy stuff, then it's hard to break into the market.

If you are going to go Armorsmith, start researching the materials you will need and get going with mining them. Even if you can't make it yet you need to start stocking up right away. That's the best advice I could give any aspiring armorsmith. Harvest your own whenever possible at first it keeps the overhead down, once the cash flow is there make your own choice on whether to buy or mine.
