I would like to ask a question that many of you will find stupid and some will point

to the sticky about smithing however I have been there and cannot understand

what is being said . My problem is I get overwhelmed by all the ratios and stuff when

all I am looking for is a straight forward answer..

I am a new 10 pt master .

Layers - Where do I put the experiment pts at all in the base or in the special with the left

overs goin into the durabilty ? If so why not into the special and the left overs into the base ?

Segments - after putting the layers into the segment do I experiment on the base or the special

resists with leftover in durability

Final combine - Where do the pts go

As I stated these may sound like dumb questions but if someone could answer in armor for dummies

termonolgy it would be greatly appreciated. Once I can grasp what is going on I know I can move on

and create some nice stuff .....

Again ty for anyone that would care enought to help me out ...

dont bother m8...

atm, getting good stuff out would cost u a fortune in resources just to start with...

figurering now out how the intricate process of making armor works like is just a bit late...

wait 3-4 weeks and just put all your exp in the remaining line...

Crafting will be changing quite a bit with the CU. But if you are interested in learning how to craft with the current system and realize why we don't want it changed, I suggest looking through the crafting guide in the stickies. They are very thorough.

Ty guys for your replies however can I just get some straight answers

to the questions I have posted . While I realise that the cu will change

all this and that the stickies have answers I have been there and still

cant understand wth they are talkin about .

Cant one of u guys just tell me where to put the points at for crafting

layers - segments - and the final combine without all the extras.

Example layers: hey guy u just need to put all your points into X and if

you have leftovers put it into Y.....

Again ty too anyone that would like to help me out here

It all depends on what you're trying to do.

There are 3 types of layers. Maxed Special Layers, Maxed Base Layers, and what I refer to as combination layers.

Special Layers/Base Layers are easy. Placing all the experimentation points until you reach the maximum, any remaining points will go elsewhere, HAM if you're worried about the encumberance, or the other line that's not maxed.

Combination Layers are what I'll miss the most. It was an art to figuring out the best way to experiment your layers to maximize their effectiveness...sometimes you could drop a point of special and add it to the base and let the rounding take effect.

Segments are easy, max the base and put anything left in HAM for comp, special for anything that's kinetic.

Final is Easy, most armors are going to max base and put any left over into HAM and condition.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but without knowing what armor you're trying to make, the stats you're trying to hit and at least your unlayered base, you can't really say what's the best way to experiment...man I'm going to miss this system.

If you have some specifics about what you're doing, I'll try my best to walk you through it.

might seam very arrogant, but its hard to say...

it very much depends on the resources your using...

with very high quality you might best use most of the points into quality in all 3 stages, the rest in the top one...

on the other hand it might be needed to put some points into effectiveness in both layer and segments....

its quite complex and takes some trying, rember me making like 50-60 gloves over and over and try to figure out which effects what at which stage... I suggest you do the same... as thers no quick answer
