I am a new armorsmith. I keep seeing on the forums (12pt Armorsmith). I have heard that these 12 points mean artisan experimentation pts received off the tailor tree of artisan. But I dont understand because 0400 of artisan would give you +40 to artisan experimentation. Is it just the cap? How do these artisan pts affect armorsmith? I thought the important points would be +25 assembly/experimentation to armor ? Or is the cap at +20? Thank you for the help.

Well, 12pt smiths are people who have one way or another gotten extra skill-enhancers for their armor experimentation. The cap on skills enhancement is +25, and every +10 gives you a new point to use when experimenting in armor (The same goes for every other profession). So, people who have reached +20 or more get 12 points to use when experimenting andare considered 12pt smiths.

Artisan skillsdon't have anything to do with it.

So would you have to have +120 experimentation to be a 12pt armorsmith? Or do you get the 12 pts after having +25 to experimentation ? Thanks

like he said for every 10pt experimentation you get 1exp point, so youd need 120pt experimentation, seeing as the experimentation has nothing to do with your experimentation succes ONLY on the amount of points, the excess 5 points for the cap (100 at master +25 cap in tapes) would be a waste of money.

So why do so many people advertise -12 Point MASTER ARMORSMITH!!!- If its just a waste, then....?

In the current system its not a waste. It may not seem like a lot having 2 more exp points but it adds up at each mini step.

This man is incontrivertibly correct, an extra 2 pts in experimentation can mean an increase of lets say 15-18% in the resistances of ur created armor. Just like the old saying every dollar counts...it holds true hear.

Having +125 exp compared to +120 is a waste but having +120 compared to +100 is not

If you are a normal master armorsmith you get +100 = 10 points to put into each component as you experiment on it. For example you could max out one of the lines on a layer with 10 points. But if you have +120 = 12 you will have 2 more points left to put into other lines after maxing out the first, for example making the armor lighter.

But with the new system on TC most layers will only have one line to experiment on and as you can never put more than 10 points into any line the last 2 points will go wasted. Something there has been a lot of complaing about here recently.
