OK, Now I want to know, is the dev who's supposedly 'helping' with the armor portion of the CU have ANY clue what is going on?!?!?
If you look at the listings of schematics come off the CU test server, they've made Dathomirian fiber a specific resource for the standard assault core...
Ahh, might I say.. WT*? As anyone who's tried to place a harvester might know, that between the terrain and the nightsisters, rancors, and other assorted beasties on the planet, getting any resource from that planet is difficult at best. And it's suicide for a pure crafter, especialy now that they can't wear any sort of armor...
I'm sorry, but they need to talk to someone who has a clue and plays the game, rather than picks names out of a hat and says "that sounds like a cool resource to use"
And while they're at it, hide requiremnts in cores and segments need to go away.... we can make starships, I think we know how to protect people without using animal hides... come on now.

Sorry, but I have about 300-400k of this stuff from my server. If you want it, there are always people that will mine it for you. Credits talk ingame just as much as they do in RL.

OK, let me be more specific here...
This is a requirement for a standard core, not an advanced, not anything special, just a standard core.
For the difficulty and expenense of geting this resource... which, I might add, will take months of spawns to get in a decent quality, it has no place in this schematic.
It's probably unfair to compare this to the horn fiasco, it's not that bad.
But assigning this resource to a standard core's schematic shows a complete lack of perspective on the dev's part. (speaking specificly to the dev who worked on this, not all of them as a whole.)
This, along with the increased hide requirements, shows that the dev who's working on these schematics does not have an in-depth knowledge of what we go thru to make our armors on a daily basis, much less over the long term.
He/She might be good at juggling numbers, but so are we. And the numbers just aren't adding up.

That I can agree with. It is a bit odd to have a named resource in a standard core.

Yep, credits do talk. I feel sorry for the combat professions. When these new rules hit live, my armor prices just went up 300%.

They have to. If they keep a lot of these special resources, I may just have to use resource deeds I've been collecting. At 100 cpu a pop, I see a 300% increase as well. Prob going to be doing a lot or resource for armor deals in the begining, otherwise these people are going to be hurting bad.
Or they all just go TKM ![]()

Its not the resources that are going to cause my prices to rise. Ive already got the resources needed for the new segments and stuff. Its the time consumption that will go into each peice of armor now. With no more factory runs for end product, this is going to increase the amt of time involved in making armor. I use to make armor by hand for quite sometime when I was a noob smith because I didnt know how to do factories(yea i know how dumb can you be). Anyway, it took me like6 hours to make up 30 full sets of armor using my tools as fast as they will go. Now, this was very boring and I almost quit til a nice friend showed me how to use the factories. Now I am able to have fun doing other things and keep my prices low for the customer. With the new time consumption requirements for armorsmiths in the cu, that is why prices will increase. Dont know about you, but working 6 hours to make 30 suits of armor is not fun, especially with the business I do. Currently, I do 2 to 3 mil worth of sales a day, and the reason is because im not stuck behind a crafting tool and can put up 50 suits a day on my vendor thanks to factories. Now, my factories will be nothing more than 1 lot storage spaces.

I have no issues with tougher zones.Heck my guildies will go out of their way to make sure they have thier armor. and in doing so, making sure I am safe
If your in a guild, you got benefits. if your out on your own, might want to consider making deals with combatants.
but I agree with you on the hide requirements. it's just a bit too high. Not to mention the one bar experimentation.
But Ok'rhan (sp) has a nice memo in another thread to the dev's with all our concerns. SOE make be a company. but also remeber the game won't last long without players. loonies to donuts, the SOE is watchin us. A company that big isn't stupid.
I'm "hoping" they will keep the good of the CU, and keep the good of the Pre-CU that we love.
only time will tell.
they are feeling us out as well feel out the CU.

I'd better buy Composite and Padded by the Crate before the CU then.
