You have an AS again?

maybe they just want to give everyone en even chance to get in on the market?
and since most of us are not new, why would they want to go against the majority of the players?

well...if thats there intentions then we're going to have the same problem 6 months from now. There will alaways be someone doing it longer then the next person. Should we just start over every few months? Point being..... we all started doing this and there were peeps doing way b4 us. yet with time and patience we all got to the same playing field.

When i started AS there was a lot of big names on my server... SkinnyManDo to name one. THese guys had the whole market sewn up... right... no chance for a new guy....right?
Well I started to make armour, i started to collect resources, i opened a vendor and put my armoru on there... but despite a closed market, the armoru was selling. In fact in my first week skinny bought half a dozen of my suits off me. Im sure he wasnt wearign them, caused they were crap compared with his, i guess he was helping me out with a little cash.
Anyway, over time i got better resources, i invested my money into old resources, i bought skill tapes. Eventaulyl i opened a second store.
It took a while, and it took a lot of effort, but I am now one of the bigger guys on the server. Im not the biggest, im not the best, im not the cheapest. BUT ive got lots of stock, its VERY good (onyl slight difference to the best) and its very well priced and my armour sells.
The point is that i spent time, i spent credits, i put effort into building a good supply of armour. I see the same names coming back over and over again. You shoudlnt expect to be a new AS and be as good as another smith who has put 100's of hours of game play into their craft - that woudl be unbalanced.
I still cant craft RIS as good as Skinny and Makkir - but im getting closer (watch out guys
I could go on, but your already bored so /end_rant

I hate to break it to ya, but AS's are a pretty tight knit bunch.
I ALWAYS help up and coming AS's out by giving them advice. I have no problems with helping them setup a successful shop, plenty of credits to go around for everyone. But since they don't start making a million credits a day after having there shop up for 3 days, they usually quit.
I even send my own customers away from me for armor, Cabeza is the best on Starsider for crafting RIS and I refer customers asking me to make them RIS Armor to him.

There is no problem to get into the business and make money for a new armorsmith. It can take a little time in marketing the products but after that there is no problem. I had "the same problem" I thought when I moved to theinfinity-server, but just after a month I were getting good sales (as a 10pt crafter).
So if anyone says they can't get into the market, they'll like sitting in a corner and rolling their thumbs (just doing nothing).
i didnt say i coudent get in on the as market, i started out some months ago and yes the AS are tightly knit, but they are sure helpfull on Sunrunner, give resources/trade resources.
My point was some executive in the DEV department got a choise: 1. get more customers 2. get fired
he chose number 2 and will increase the membership for a few months maybe, then ppl will have done the levelling and tried all aspects of the crafting and theyll leave for the next mmorpg.
I dont like the change any more than you guys do, but as it looks now we are just gonna get the long splintery shaft so that SOE can get more customers for a time being.

maybe they just want to give everyone en even chance to get in on the market?
Crafting isnt a difficult market to enter. All it takes is money, time, and comitment. The problem is most people are lacking in one or more of these ways.

second that, if there is no change from current CU plans as iot is on the TC in a month after the CU hits two accounts of mine will be cancelled. this is turning into a simplistic game for little children

Well I can say this, Is it fair that you had to take 1 even 2 years to become a high end armorsmith? Is it fair that it takes millions and millions of credits just to master the profession? This reduction of resources , and skill has to happen. Not just with armorsmith , but with weaponsmith as well. With the nerf of grinding for money , crafters should know better than to sell weapons and armor for embarassingly inflated prices. We can all thank ourselves for this one. The economy has to be controlled. I saw some sets of nice armor for very reasonale prices, but the architects making BER 13 are charging 120k to 200k per harvestor. I saw tailors selling theirsynth cloth and fiber for 4 to 8 k a box. We use how many just to make one suit? Crafting is a volatile and tricky subject, especially when people who cant play 100 hrs a week want to be competitive. Lets not even talk about the rangers , who are hide inflating. How many times do you think a ranger was secretly laughing selling peko peko feathers to an armorsmith who wants to make RIS. The architect is laughing at the resource horders, the horders laughing at the armorsmiths, and the armorsmiths left to pick up the tab. Im a little frustrated sorry, but you all know its true..................
So what you're saying is you want to be able to make awesome armor with out putting absolutely no work at all into it. Gotcha.
Before you rip on Architects for charging 120-200k for a BER13 harvestor, learn there profession. A lot of work goes into those also.
You think there are embarassingly inflated prices now?!?!? wait til the CU hits.
