The developers had to ask themselves..."what is the worst thing we could do to armorsmiths....?"
"I know, we could make sr have no effect on armor stats, because every armorsmith only looks at oq and sr when they choose resources..."
And so it has come to pass...
The only stats that affect armor are dr/oq/ and ut.....
From the resource perspective, we get to start completely over now, unless for some reason we've been collecting resources with these stats...
Its almost as if they want to get rid of us....I do hope people are angry enough about this to say something....

Smiths have gotten to the point where they centralize their production on 3 different types of armor. In the new system there are easily 17 sets of armor *3 different levels for each. Right off the bat smiths were going to have to obtain many new resources if they wanted to produce the full spectrum as the full spectrum is useful now. The old resources are still used in the new schematics however as you can see based on the sheer amount of new armor types, they had to be spread around. So I wouldn't say all the old resources are "useless"
The new resources were also selected based on resources that have a high potential for UT for the most part.

So comp in the new system is the same as the old system?

in other words yeah they are less good than they were and all the AS who stocked up was cheated....Well hopefulle most AS are rich enough to start over if they even care to

I have a job, and classes during the day, 17 sets * 3 different levels of each * 10 different resources * 3 different stats per resource is a second job, and it doesn't pay well. My smithing account is gone.

Wait wait wait.
Blix, we've always needed OQ/SR/MB as stats. It was the same no matter what armor you made. I don't mind the fact that the ratios themselves changed. It's the fact that you changed the stats.
Personally, if final combine was 33OQ/33MB/33SR, I'd be fine with it. You could even change resources around and say, "Hey, you need this type of resource, but with the same emphasis on stats."
But you've just invalidated millions upon millions of resources. I looked at my resources personally, out of 30 million, maybe, maybe 5 million or less is now usable. I can tell you, in particular, hide will completely suck. I've got, at last glace, 22 different spawns of hide in my spreadsheet. Most have very god OQ/SR. 4 of those have good UT (over 900). Of those 4, 1 has DR over 100.
This just looks like you're punishing those of us who've spent time and cash to actually aquire resources.

I still say if we all have been gathering the same resources then we will all still have the same resources as eachother after the CU and we will all still be at the same level of competition with eachother. /shrug no big deal.

That still leaves us with resources we paid out the wazoo for that we now might as well sell for 5cpu because we won't need it at all compared to other resources that we will now have to pay even MORE for, with the "new thing" inflation.
Who thought up the ridicoulous idea of shuffling the resource STATS around?
Resource requirements I get, but why the stats?!.. WHY?!!?

Ok so you take one of the most, if not the most, complicated crafting proffesion and make it more complicated and even harder to produce what people want. I dont see the logic. Armor was already incredibly complicated to make decently with all the subcomponents and sub combines that were needed with stats on each. Now we get almost 4 times that many combines to remember and test.... ugh... maybe time to swicth to weaponsmith. I am not trying to be lazy, but making complicated stuff more complicated is not going to be fun.

I don't know many serious crafters that didn't gather as many 30k vet reward deeds as they could anyway. It'll be fine either way.
