Everyone here, including myself has become very concerned with the changes being handed to our profession. But I haven't heard any information on how usefull armor will actually be in combat. Has anyone done test on fighting the same creature both with and without armor, and with different levels of armor.
We can get ourselves the best experimentation system ever, but if armor isn't useful it's not gonna help us at all.

I have been using Advanced Recon armor in Tantel form and it made me WAY tougher to kill but slowed down my rate of fire so much I switched to the basic recon. That is sweet too cause there's no hinderence from encumb and I still get some added protection. You can definatly tell a difference when you put it on. Can't wait to get mitigation for recon so I can wear the higher end stuff. I also like the fact that you need higher certs to get the mitigation from the armor. It makes getting the higher boxes that much more rewarding.

Well, this is certainly refreshing to hear. Thank you.

I agree with Jango. It's nice to hear something positive.

i believe one of teh current problems on TC with armor and groups is that if you are lets say a level 5 and you are grouped witha couple peoplewho has double mastery... you are not dealt damage to as if you were level 5 solo.... so you can stand toe to toe as long as you are grouped.. if you disband you will get torn a new one though... if they dont fix that.. people will just group their multiple toons and just solo everything again

Solo groups without the pay out..... I smell a future nerf if they don't handle this now.

I found the tbe Recon Normal (or what ever the one the frogs have between Basic and advanced is) was quite nice. Add the PSG for critters ranged attacks and it was sweet.
The creature damage increaseing as it goes over your level, not just going up with its own has got to go.
