Depends on the server, as to how hard it is to break into. Also depends on how many credits you already have, to buy up all the insanely good resources you need. If you are starting fresh? Then NO, you will not make that kind of cash straight out the gate. You need a minimum of 3 months of resource chasing to make decent enough armor to make the huge bucks. It would take far less effort to just chase the resource shifts and sell the raw materials. My richest char is my RANGER, not any of my armorsmiths. Best weekend to date? 60 million. What char? My ranger, when she was selling off 6 months of weaponsmithing resources she'd collected.

If it's just about the cash, there are several combat professions that can outearn a crafter any day of the week. Of course, it takes some dedicated grinding. I typically take the sort of contract that earns me 50k or more per lair, without having to smack around Jantas. Sure, I can sell as much ubese as I can craft, but I have to spend at least an hour a day chasing resources and moving harvestors. Then restocking time, plus crafting time ( I once took 3 hours straight trying to get a triple amazing stun layer - this was before bespin port, and right after player cities).

40 million a week can happen, yes, if you collect resources for 3 to 6 months, and really practice your craft. In reality? You can make more for the same play time just selling off the resources.

Yes it is easily possible to earn 40 million or more a week. I sell whatever armor I produce in a week. I generally produce between 180-350 suits a week depending on my mood. Spend your time building your name and reputation and you'll get there. Don't spend the time and you'll be dropping Armosmith like a hot potato.

The problem you are going to have is that if you want to produce enough armor consistently to earn 40 million a week you are going to need to have massive stockpiles of the resources needed. As Newmoon stated, that takes a lot of cash and months of mining.

Best of luck to you.

Advertise, advertise, advertise.

Build a well-decorated store in a prime location, ALWAYS KEEP IT STOCKED, and advertise everywhere and you will begin to build a customer base. Return customers are the key to success. I did some math and realized around 75% of my business was from return customers.

Resources will take you many months to gather.

ABOVE ALL: Remember to be friendly, courteous and helpful to customers. This will endear them to you and they will be faithful to your business, even if someone else has better armor, but is an a**.

Enjoy!

I dont think you realize how many suits you have to sell to make 40 mill a week

even at 500k a suit (very high on valcyn) that is 80 suits. Also with that 40 mill a week you earn, you might need to spend 30 mill for more resources and hides

try plowing through 50-100k hides every week and keeping stock of high quality stuff

10 months of work in the business, 5h crafting a day, 50% of the server market ( rough estimate) and yes you will get there....

Of course that is revenue not profit. As a newcomer you're gonna take monthsand spend dozens of millions just getting the good resources to compete....

And if a few good AS have a good hold on the market, just forget about it..........

Oh and in 10 months vendor only ran out of stock twice at the end of a 2 weeks vacations.....

Trust me, you're better off doing missions if you want to make cash....

I bet you have 40% of the market Ail, but that is still tons, there are still lots of guild armorsmiths around making stuff not everyone knows of.

although I think I have 95% of the dantooine market and 80% of the wookiee armor market as well, that is enough for me. I dont want much more business, just more work for me

I bumped with some lesser known smiths in NA retiring and by adding a shop at coronet, all my business there has been new business for me

I guess on days that I work I should log out in the village so I can convert my merchant xp when I log on for 20 minutes to check my mail

on days I dont work I have 12 factories going which is up from 9

You have to work your #"¤%#% off to make a lot of money. I'm thinking of scaling back my operation a bit actually, I sell too much armor and am having trouble keeping up.

Just bevore I dropt Docter ... I sold like 40-50mil a week on buffpacks.... now 15-20mil on armors and increasing (still building stock bevore some advertisment)

But most things I read here apply but the most important thing is keep your vendor always stockt when one part is not on your vendor any more people wont come back that easy.

Advertisment helps in the beginning but if your make great stuff and overdo the advertisment your out of stock to fast hitt a lot of cash and also get people disapointed... take time to build your name

and you need tons tons and tons of cash for infestment

I started from scratch as a 12pt armorsmith.... made a lot of cash from Docter and invested it all in Armorsmith ad it was a lot around 60mil on experiment and assebly tapes 50mil on wooly hide around 7 months of harversting project with my guild and building stock form 30mil units off mining resourses (this all because I wanna make my Own RIS suit)

making this kind of money from scratch is hard and almost cant be don if you dont have a solid cash backbone.

Armorsmithing income is not quick it takes months to get the stuff together. If you have to buy it all it will cost millions up front if you mine it all your at the mercy of spawns.

If you start will a huge bank roll you can get to making say 7 million a week fairly quickly but then you will hit a wall till your stuff is 1) Well known and 2) Well Stocked. Folks are not going to go to a shop they have never heard of and buy much. If they get there and your out of stock they wont come back.

Smithing is very time consuming work you are constantly running factories and waiting for emails about segments and layers finishing. While you waiting your experimenting final assemblies and moving things from factory to factory. The really good smiths are able to answer emails and manage their vendors at this time too.

This is not the fast track to cash. That is still boring as it is running Janta missions and hoping for good drops.

I dunno exactly what share I have, I know it raised with Choco'lat and Varnax retiring...

Haven't kept a count but I sell around 100 to 200 pieces of armor a day.

What really amazes me is the number of people browsing through the shop.

I converted all my merchant xp to sense xp and 3 hours after I had 15k merchant xp already and this is late in the evening...

I have a feeling getting the xp for 2 sense trees won't be that hard....
