Thread: Okay, so I'm rich and bored. What to do?

I've been armorsmith for a few months now and tending factories for a few hours each day doesn't hold the same allure as it used to. I have amassed at least a moderate amount of cash (9 figures at least) and have people buying way too much armor from me.(I sell out too fast.)

What do you people do to spice up your life? Getting credits and making great armor was my goal and well.. I've reached it. I'm spending a ton of cash on RIS components and BH armor and the like, but that isn't a lot of gametime needed for that.

Selling cheaper isn't really an option, then I'd just do the same amount of work for even less incentive. Just having people use my stuff doesn't seem like a worthwhile cause. I need a new goal to aim for, anyone got any?

go force sensitive /giggle

or just do something unique that no one else on your server does. An armorsmith on Valcyn started buying bulk amounts of base 3% nightsister layers and shards, and rancor/janta hide cheaply and in vast bulk, and started producing a line of armor with 4% stun, high 60-70ish base, and very low ham (like 30-10-30 on arm pieces), and heavier full stun chest/helmets with the hides. It was quite popular and sold for several hundred K apiece to PVPers.

Or try making a new line of armor. I've always thought 80% kinetic, low-HAM (like under 600), low 60s base with 4% stun would sell well, but only seen one ever try it. Sort of a universal armor for players on a tight budget that don't want to pay for separate suits for pvp, hunting, and whatnot.

Enhanced crafting using looted pieces is what's kept me a weaponsmith for close to a year now. Much more variety and thinking/optimization involved than churning resources into the same thing day in and day out. Profit-wise, armor isn't as enhanced-market friendly as weapons, just cause it decays faster, but I must say as a weaponsmith, I love my uber armor pieces more than my uber weapons.

No no no, Lurax. Thats not how you have fun and get "unbored". Let me tell you how. First whenever you get into the game, you take a little trip to the bank. Once you are there you continue to withdraw, oh say a few 100k credits or more if you wish *wink wink*. After that type in this message - "/tip Tavi #ofcredits#", and so once you do that you'll feel much better after you've help a fellow kettemoorian in need ^_^. Trust me that'll make all the difference and you'll never be bored again.

.............NEVERMIND, thought he was on the kettemoor sever V_V *cries

Buy up all the high end experimentation tapes that go up for sale on your auction forum, and place them all in the most hideous and mind destroyingly ugly pieces of clothing you can have some twisted and insane tailor make.

Things like puke pink hot pants, or some of those vests that nobody has ever worn because they're so ugly.

Then resell them, thus ensuring that every other crafter on the server will slowly go mad due to the disgusting clothing they have to wear when crafting.

I still find the whole resource-management bit fun, but it isn't as fun to sit and try 20 times to get an amazing on layers and sit an hour and a half making armor schematics and stuffing factories.

Maybe I should switch over to doing more custom-made stuff..

Yeah Custom-built is definitely the way forward.

I'm on the brink of stopping making mass-produced armour altogether. It feels too much like a job sometimes and dare I say a little monotonous.

I've always maintained a good stock of Nightsister and Janta Enhanced armours, I'm leaning more toward making only special items rather than the bog standard triple 80's. I certainly find it far more satisfying selling hand crafted special pieces than selling gawd knows how many mass produced items.

Less work, Less materials, More time to hunt nuff said!

Whooooeee.. man I sure went on a buying binge tonight. My final tab for the day ended up at around 78 million credits spent, which is a personal record I doubt I'll ever break. But now I have some new toys to play with. I just hope I don't wake up with a credit hangover tomorrow.
