First of all please forgive my noobishness!

What is considered to be a good layer for armour?

Now I appreciate that they all do different things but what would the long term master AS's consider to be a good layer?

2-3% base effect and 11-12% special protection?

Just wondering?

4% for base heavy layers and 14% for special. You cannot get one layer to have both though......

Hope this helps.

A good trade off is to go 3% base for layers and then you can usually get 8-10% special if you have really good materials.

But it really depends on the layer and what you're using it in.

Ubese Kinetics:

You want to go all Kinetic, and get into the 14% range

Composite Kinetic:

If you are using three layers: you want to go all base, and get the base up to 4%. If you are just using two layers to get 80% Kinetic then you have to put most of it into kinetic resistance. Generally the 10% range works on two layers composite

Composite Energy is pretty much the same boat as kinetic

Composite Stun:

Generally I got for a 3.6% base and get as high of stun as possible. Stun armor is really one of the areas that 12 point smiths really get a chance to crush competition, because those extra 12 points help them keep a very high base and at the same time get their stun resistances high up there.
