So.. there you have it folks. No idea. Seems strange to me why they just didnt make the Tuesday tip. Armor and Wep Repair. I mean if you look at the tip, we have exactly the same questions. It's amazing to me that the game has been out a year now and this issue has never been fully explained.

I've had a +20 to repair for a long time. i certainly don't get as many complete failures as i did before i had the bonus, and other people prefer me to repair their armor because they seem to get a lot of failed repairs. However, i may just be lucky. I watch weaponsmiths with +25 to repair get a perfet repair every time. I watch tailors with no bonuses repair perfectly every time. All in all, i'd say NO. Armor repair bonuses are completely useless.

It's all a dice roll. But I believe we get some extra benefit than the non-armorsmiths just like weaponsmiths get a little benefit on repairing weapons.

I guess I wasn't really asking. My point is that we can speculate all we want. And say its a dice role and all the other stuff.

Bottom line is that if TH doesn't know... how the hell can anyone here claim to know, and if you do - perhaps your in the wrong job!

We'll learn for sure now as soon as TH delevers with a solid answer from the dev that programmed it. Until then all we have is speculations, but think to yourself; Why would Weaponsmith repair be any different from Armorsmith? Do you believe the devs would use one system on one profession but an entirely different system on another?

I do not think it would be too far of a jump to assume that Armorsmith repair works the exact same way that weaponsmith does.

A small benefit could be as little as .00001% and still qualify as an increase. Same with the quality of tools and repair tapes and presumably force sensitive repair. Tiny tiny infinitesimal increase in the chance.

The bad thing is that a lot of people are under the impression an armorsmith -must- repair their armor. Or that an AS cannot fail in repairing.

It's a dice roll. I sell high quality repair kits on the vendor, but I offer zero guarentees for repairs if I do them or anyone else does them.

I have also gotten to the point that I will only do repairs if I have absolutely nothing else to do at the time and I positively won't do them in lag-fest areas like Coronet.
