The grind with armorsmith is just not possible..... Poss when the devs see after 6 months only the free unlockers have any of the crafting mastery skills will they do something about it.

Im with you Oa'kron, I looked at the XP needed to grind the crafting trees and the amount of resources and decided against it. I can farm 1.8 mil xp as master pike in one set of buffs vs days of grinding mabari chest and ubese shirts with millions in resources. Im even at the point now where I may drop AS to pick up scout and finish TKM to make the grind go even quicker.

I decided it over...
and the benifits to becoming a Force Sensitive Crafter just aren't worth me grinding like a crazy dummy just to get them.
Experimentation wise: the only thing that somewhat be benificial, but if calculate it out, the differenc ebetween a great success and an awesome succes often times isn't even enough to change 1% in the resistance of armor (sometimes it does, but not very often)
Assembly wise: I get along just fine with my unmodified assembly score from being a master armorsmith. I hardly ever get a crit failure on an armor assembly
Repair: Bugged up the wazzo, is it even worth getting?
And I don't even understand what benifits I'm supposed to get from the last line.
After two day's worth of ubese shirts, I got half way to my first box. Wow... half way, after waisting 600k resources.
So I'm just not gonna bother with it, the benifits of being a FS crafter just aren't worth the grind. I'll probably work on the FS combat and scout sides with my alt, and probably find it to be a lot easier to get from just my normal wooly hide hunting.

By and large I kind of agree with you.
I might grind swoops from time to time but not much. I will probably hand-make padded and other items including special loot-enhanced armor more than in the past due to the exp gained from it.

Word on the WS forums is that a 12-point smith, in a Research City and with +20 FS experimentation can get approximately 6-7 amazing successes. This is the equivalent of a 13th point. Of course, the only WS who can point this out are the ones who got free unlocks...the rest of us are still grinding it out.
Is the grind worth having a '13th' point? I guess that's up to you.

Let me share my experience :
I am a 10 points master with +20 force experimentation (did only 9 professions and luckily, one was a hidden one so i could get a free unlock).
Difference between now that I am force sensitive and before : none!! Impossible to get more than 2 consecutive amazings in an intensive hour of mad experimentations with 900+ ingredients.
ROFL I am glad I didn't have to grind it out...Just drink Bespin port, it works better. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!!..unless it's bugged which is more than possible.
I am going to pursue some more intensive testing on that and I'll post when I have numbers.
Regards,
