It's in case it converted badly, it can be taken apart and reassembled. I don't know the details of that, though...

ive not been brave enough to try dismantling it yet, heard someone dismantled a mandalorian helmet on one server, ill see if i can find that post now, and if i do link it here

Hello great makers of armor. I recently noticed that my Looted Bounty Hunter armor, that was turned into crafted Bounty Hunter armor now has an option to "dismantle". Do u all know waht this means? I was hoping it would mean dismantle into a schematic. But it probably means dismantle into dust. Any advice?

I figured it out. I dismantled one piece and it goes from a wearable armor to a piece of armor that says it can be used in crafting mando armor. Its condition goes to 100/100 and is non wearable now. So basically it turns into an item used solely for crafting Mando armor in the DWB.
