I did one of the worst thing someonecould do...... i did /respec master AS.

Now of course i now need to come here and bug.... Which i shouldn't do and learn from my mistakes.

So here goes with the questions...

1). 4 layers go into a segment... Now what layers would be good to use for the following. Battle, Recon, and assult?

-should i mix it up with alittle of this and alittle of that? or use one of one kind?

-and cause Cores are suppose to be in grates does that mean the layers and segments all need to be the same

aswell?

2). Bio-Linked? lol I took 10 months off from game so I have no clue what this means...does that mean take my armor to a

BE?

I will have more but if someone nice enough to answer these and not make me feel more of a noob than i feel already i'll be happy... been playing since launch and now crafting is a whole new game! Ty for the patience..

Depends on what you want, but Primus Layers are prolly the most useful. If you want extra protection in Kin or Ene, use the Kin and Ene Layers. Don't bother with the elemental layers for now.

Never mix and match opposing layers (ex: Kin and Ene). They'll cancel each other out.

I'd stick to using the same type layers.

"grates"? I think you meant "crates".

Crated cores are needed to make helmets, chests and legs.

Everything else can be made by hand.

If you are making crated items, all components must be identical.

So to make 10 identical cores, you'll need 30 identical segments which then require30 x 4 identical layers (for quad layered stuff).

The layers can all be the same (120 identical)or you can mix and match up to 4 separate identical stacks of 30 layers.

Either way, you'll need a factory.

2). Bio-Linked? lol I took 10 months off from game so I have no clue what this means...does that mean take my armor to a

BE?

Bio-linking is for faction armor only and basically means "to customize for personal use".

You need faction point in order to link the armor to yourself.

Once linked, nobody else can wear/link the armor anymore.

Hence, it's customized for YOUR OWN PERSONAL USE ONLY.

It's the same as tuning a pearl/crystal where once tuned, only the Jedi that tuned it can use it.

I believe, since segments need not be identical, a run of 10 cores takes 3 sets of 10 segments which do not have to be identical (11 for schematic creation, of course). This could allow 12 different sets of layers ... if you're feeling masochistic.

Should have wrote 10 x 3 identical segments. hehe

Thanks for clearing it up.

That makes it seem like you need 10 sets of 3 identical, though. It's easier for me to visualize if I think of it as 3 x 10 identical segments.

Oh, and while we're at it, let me correct the 30 x 4 identical layers to 4 x 30.

It's the same as tuning a pearl/crystal where once tuned, only the Jedi that tuned it can use it.

...so you can not wear factional armour unless it's bio linked? Sweet.

I can not afford to make factional armor yet, but this is moving me in that direction.

Go for it but be warned its a pain in the ass to say the least. Every piece has to be handcrafted, anda sets (full suit)worth of schematics can easily run you around 2 mil to get enough faction. Spent 5 mil yesterday for enough faction to get try and get enough schematics for 30 suits (all 3 types) and I'm still missing some. HUDE money and time sink IMHO.

I hope this can be answered here.. I am also a returning player and all this is new to me.

I didnt want to start a new thread becasue this one seemed to be close enough. hehe.

But let me see if I understand this, i'll use the rebel assault armor as the example.

If I wanted to put on the armor, I would have to bio link it? no other way around it, correct? and in order to do that, I would need to spend faction points to bio link.

So that is the only benefit to bio linking? simply being able to actually wear it.

right?

Thanks!

(btw I too respec'ed to Master armorsmith) heh.
