Thread: The best species
Circe' Pojia You know, I started my Armorsmith toon because my wife wanted to play a crafter some. It was a doomed experiment as she got bored during the grind and left it for me. We made the toon a human female and molded it as close to her in RL as possible (like most people try to do with their first mmorpg toon). It doesn't have the tale-tale signs of a guy playing a female toon (full bust,blonde, ugly red lipstick, shoulder cropped hair, and the slave outfit...which my wife refuses to let me put on her). Honestly, thinking a female toon is really a female player is not playing the odds, but I've had just about everybody assume I was, because of her "normal" look.
With that in mind, I almost ALWAYShave peeps give me a little extra cash for a custom job or some other gift for helping them. It's a little advantage that helps even though my armor isn't always capped! You just have to deal with them hugging and kissing your toon all the time, which is a little disturbing! 
Doesn't matter, save for buying imp schems or a little free love from fellow male players, if you like that sort of thing.
Mon Cals do have the best facial expressions in the game however and are reconized as crafters.
You can go with a wookiee and make a weapon -- the bowcaster -- that no other species can. Of course, you probably won't have that many wookiee customers looking for one, but that's another matter. Also, you'll have a harder time outfitting a 12 pt suit for a wook.
Basically do whatever species you want.
