Thread: Noobsmith question on Faction Armor
great, thanks for the info! ![]()
i'll have to go check on those fp prices
I do have another question though
That is, do i have to be Imperial/rebel to make imperial/rebel armor? Can i have someone buy the schematics for me? Or do i have to do it myself?

you have to be combatant to buy them
I have a question, what is the going rate for 1 schematic? My armorsmith has 0 faction right now and was planning on purchasing some, any idea what he would need in order to start producing these suits? I know some faction would be needed just to get enough rank to hold the amount needed to buy one schematic but how much faction for one schematic? 8k? and that can make 10 pieces of 1 armor?
From what I have read looks like the price flucuates but I am looking for a ballpark not specific.
You can not buy the schematics from a player, you need to have the faction to buy it yourself. You can however get a smuggler to buy faction for you , then he can /delegate the faction to you for a price. The avg price is 100 credits per faction point. so 10k faction will cost you about a mil. however the transfer of faction depends on your rank it is not a 1 to 1 ratio. The higher your rank the better off you will be buying faction points.

You mean that you can't buy a set of schematics and trade them to another MAS? So much for the thought of a partnership, since rank appears to effect faction costs...
You buy for example Shock Trooper Left Bicep (10) nothing will appear in your inventory.
After that open your crafting tool a see an "Assault trooper Left Bicep" under Arms armor.
You can craft ten of them, a counter will decrease each time you "construct" (after experimentation) the armor piece.
So basically this schematic is not represented by an object or a data in your datapad, it is not tradable.
Rank has no bearing on faction cost unless you are a smuggler. The faction cost that the MAS is charged per schematic is dependent on the war status on the planet they are trying to buy on and their race if imperial.

Actually on shadowfire I am buying all of the schematics for 1 suit for just under 9k faction points. Just have to find the right planet

You need to purchase the schematics from your faction recruiter. The prices are in faction points. Each schematic is sold seperately and is good for 10 uses. The prices vary depending on which planet you buy them from. if it is a planet that is heavily favored of your faction it will be cheaper and the opposite will be more expensive. Once you purchase the schematics you make it like any other armor. Your customer must bio link it to wear it. All this means is that once he clicks yes to bio linkl, then no one else can wear it. also your customer needs around 1200 or so fp to be able to equip the armor.
So it's true that you need fp to bio-link faction armor. *thinks it's the stupidest thing...anyways* Now does the faction cost vary with recon, battle and assault and is that per piece? If so, does anyone know more specifics? I have seen anywhere from 1200-8000. Because I have a suit of Rebel Assault armor that I'm just about ready to want to wear, but if I don't have the fp, it's not as soon as I had hoped.

Lol, glad I found that out now...ive been telling people they need 18k FP (going rate on the planet im on) before they can get the suit crafted, guess I can tell them otherwise now.
