You may want to ask that in the AS forum. A large % of the people here are not AS's and/or have little knowledge of the AS grind.

im doing mabari chest plates it takes more resources but im getting like 460 xp per chest youll need to have a tailor make synthetic clothes or just get novice and do it yourself once you get to personal armor 3 you can make ubese shirts for like 120 xp but less resources my problem with the mabari is i need hides and large quantities of hide is hard to come by which make it somewhat expensive for the grind but im new too hope it helps

AUK's are the poor mans grind item, so are ubese shirts once you can make em, but ubese shirts are soo much better. Don't rush to master unless you have millions in your bank account, seriously. Take your time grinding, and pounce on key resources (Fiberplast, Polymer, steel etc) especially composite resources if you plan on making composite.

Key to armorsmithing is, beleive it or not, a crapload of old, high quality resources. Whether you spent 3 months collecting yourself or buy them, you will need a large selection of high quality resources to make even the smallest range of armors (composite is straightforward, just need to collect resources for a while).

Half of armorsmithing is waiting for spawns to come up, and then pouncing on it with everything you got. Because if you don't got the resources, then you don't got the armor, and quality is key in armorsmithing.

PS: Grinding, either hunt hides/buy off the bazaar and hoard, or get friends to give you their junk hides for mabari grinding.

PSS: If you want to make cash, you won't do it enough selling low-level armor to cover costs. I suggest picking up an elite combat prof(TKA anyone?) and making money that way, soooo much easier.

way i did it i bought a private crafting station and 2 factories made armor segments in factory crates made mabari armorweave i was getting 5-8 boxes a day some days i was running around doing stuff. if you dont have much money i would just make armor upgrade kits they give 60 exp and you can cycle through them fast with a good macro. also being poor might be an issue you are going to need a lot of money or a lot of resources it doesnt end when you get master you still need to get certain resources and to compete with the people that have been doing it so long and have so much money is hard im dealing with that now. basically if you got cash do mabari chest if you dont make armor upgrade kits.

My AS will be my soon-to-be-made alt char. I have a master Doc/Master Medic/TKA 1-3-4-2 and I buff for cash. I have lotsa money.
