Well the titel says it. THese 2 armour types are simply collectables because the composite available out does them. Ive yet to see a R.I.S. helmet that beats the best composite and the mando helmets ive seen screenshots of are laughable there stats are so poor.Goodness knows why considering the effort you have to goto get them.I really think these 2 armour types need to have something to them to make them more than collectables. Either up the stats or add special bonuses to them because they aren't practical atm. Does any one have any opinions? yey or ney? You might as well consider this a petition to get the armour changed sop its decent.

Nothing short of the combat revamp (pushed back to '05) or lightsaber resists will make these more practical than the current incarnation of composite.
One nice benefit to RIS is that it only requires one segment for each piece, so it's a great place to use nice loot. For example, I've got a set of fiveexceptional Nightsister shards. That would make one composite chest plate, but with RIS I could make five pieces with them.

Yah I'd much rather wear a full set of crappy RIS then a full set of comp cause everyone wears composite but not everyone wears RIS armor.

Jumping into this forum for a second.
My biggest problem with RIS and Mando is that it still decays just as fast as any other armor. Right now on the Tarquinas boards each RIS piece has a starting minimum bid of 5 mil. That is just a starting price mind you. The helm iteself it up to 7 mil with days still remaining on the auction. That means that with a condition of 30677, each point is worth about 228 credits. Now if you have your armor insured and you die, your armor loses about 306 points. (1% of the armor) 306*228 = 69,768 credits. That is a decent chunk of change. Of course you can get it repaired after a lot of wear and tear, but that is a lot of money for someone to spend for it to decay as much as anything else.
I am not saying to take business away from the armorsmiths, but most of the time people who buy RIS are not repeat buyers. Just a thought.

I didnt know about the shards.. Thats good. Also i agree RIS looks better but thats not a practical use. Also where did it say combat rebalance was pushed back to 05 i thaught it was going to be pub 11. I really want this armour fixed, for the effort you put in the rewards are pathetic.

Wow ster i cant believe its going for that much. An 85% baseinterwoven RIS helmet doesnt even go for a million on shadowfier i meat someone with one today. The decay isnt so bad if your buying at reasonable prices.

At this moment, it's nothing but 'Trophy Armor', because of the rarity of the components, and the difficulty in assembling it (mando).
It's too valuable to be used in real combat.

I disagree. A couple of the pieces of RIS I have seen recently are better than any composite that is being made. Using the interwoven segment schematic, acid and stun layers, I have seen some RIS with pre-slice base of 85% and no vulnerabilities except Lightsaber, with an encumbrerance that is better than composite.
Now we are not talking run-of-the mill RIS either. I am talking about RIS crafted with care and not made as a show piece.

What boggles my mind is that they reported ambiguosly that RIS would have LS resists, even to the point that they used it on TC2 during the Pub 9 tests w/ LS resists. Yet on live servers, it still has no LS resists.
