I have just come back to the game after about 3 months off, and was wondering what is the best type of armor for my MBH/Mcarbine, and what are good stats thatI should look for?

Thus sets off page after page of responses. Halfof which are honest and true: "You must download the trial and see for yourself." Some are "sky is falling" responses. One or two suspect some trolling and question how the OP is able to post here. And the remainder latch on to one of the questions and debate the topic until flying pigs return carrying the wayward cows.

Should be no problem. From the SWG CU armor update page (see part highlighted in red):

  • Imperial Assault Armor: Wearable by all species except Wookiees and Ithorians. Helmets fit Humans and Zabraks only.

  • Rebel Battle Armor: Wearable by all species except Wookiees and Ithorians.

  • Rebel Assault Armor: Wearable by all species except Wookiees and Ithorians.

In addition to the full sets that have been added, the following sets of armor have had additional pieces added to make complete sets:

From the sticky at the top of the Armor forum: Information on CURB for Customers.

      Penalty: -1000 Energy

Appearances: Chitin, Composite, Ithorian Sentinel, Kashyyykian Hunting, Factional

      Battle

Professions: Carbineer, Combat Medic, Creature Handler, Doctor, Fencer, Pikeman, Ranger, Swordsman

      No Bonus or Penalty

Appearances: Bone, Marauder, Padded, Ithorian Defender, Kashyyykian Black Mountain, R.I.S. (quest),and Factional

      Reconaissance
      Professions: BioEngineer*, Pistoleer, Rifleman, Smuggler

      Bonus: +1000 Energy

      Penalty: -1000 Kinetic

Appearances: Mabari, Tantel, Ubese, Ithorian Guardian, Kashyyykian Ceremonial, and Factional

      * BioEngineers only receive hindrance mitigations equal to "basic" core armor.

Your choice is Assault (MBH) or Battle (MC). Assault favorsKinetic which may not be good for hunting Jedi. Battle is more neutral. You can go with battle with some nice Primus layers (4) for a nice balanced set up armor.

The armor is new and there are a lot of different opinions about which is best. Knowing whether you want protection from Kinetic or Energy will help you decide.
