It's a simple enough question. A friend of mine told me today that he didn't think they worked, so I am asking the pros about it.

Thanx in advance for responses.

I'm not one of the pros but I have worn them and they seem to be working to me. One bug with them that I have heard about though is that if you don't unequip and re-equip a PSG right before you go into battle it won't work. But if you take it off and put it back on it should work. Hopefully some of the armorsmiths here can confirm or correct me on this, but that has been my experience.

that's correct...

if you're PSG is not working, unequip it and requip it. i suggest putting it in your toolbar, leave it unequiped and only activate it when you really need the bugger like in PVP or heavy fire from a lot of NPCs. Since they wear out so fast anyway, it might be a good idea to leave it unequped except for when you need it as they can get burnt out pretty quickly.

For cost effectiveness, PSG MK1's take the cake. They are cheap, even for the average noob, and on my server average price is 5000 credits. For 20%ish resist to energy, that is impressive, even for a short lifespan.

I have to say that imperial PSGs are my favorite *prolly 'causeI have access to 'em) They cost a bit more, but last WAY longer and have much better resistances. I think they're worth the mony if you're doig PVP or really heavy combat quite often. I don't charge a huge amount for 'em as they don't last very long and you need to buy a couple just to last a couple hours of heavy fighting, I think they're worth seeking out to find an AS that is willing to make em. I know I HATE it when I have to make all the components when I am running low on PSGs, way too much effort, that is for sure. Even MK 1's are pain, sinc really the only difference between the MK 1 and the MK 3 is a bit more resources and three more components of the same type. All the other compnent requirements are the exact same.
