Since I don't plan on picking up Master Artisan again, the only way I'm going to climb the MC trees is through armor crafting. My question is, has anyone done a tree by crafting armor, without using a 3rd party AFK crafting program AND kept their sanity?

If so, how?

I'm sure that no one has yet, given the amount of time involved. If you are grinding, yes it will be horrible. However, you can just craft some armor by hand. This will take a very long time, but shouldn't be too horrible.

There are other ways, perhaps smarter, if you do want to grind. First, though landspeeders are the quickest route, it's by far the most expensive. If I were grinding with artisan stuff, it would be wind harvs all the way. That way you don't need to get master.

The best thing to do, however, is to grind to 0/0/0/2 DE and do the adv chasis. This will only take up an additional 15 SP, and is by far the most economical in terms of time to resource trade-offs.

I think there were some Macros people were using to speed up the crafting process. it would auto craft the items, but you still had to load the resources into the schematic. There are no macros that would allow you to be AFK.

I grinded the entire Tree crafting Mad amounts of Mabari Chest Plates. It was expensive and took ALOT of time, but I did it. I think im ok<NervousTwitch>

Take maberi chests to personal armor 4. Even with no boxes in experimentation, you can still get decent colors ( if not the best and brightest). At personal armor 4, padded chests are 700 xp +. What's more important, even done with crap resources, it'll sell for a great profit to the fashion minded crowd. It's one option of many. Do you have any merchant skills? If you do, then you can fill a vendor full a day, and generate alot of xp and cash. ( Or find a merchant who wants to resell for you).Have fighting skills/novice scout? You'll need it to collect alot of wooly hide. Endor gives the most in the shortest time IMHO. Gurks on Lok give the most leathery in the shortest time. If it's just about grinding, avoid armor completely. BLL droid chasis require some fairly specific resources, and factory parts, but are 4400 or so xp per combine. Too bad you have to grind past all the meeces ( mouse droids).

OO, almost forgot, if you want more xp than grinding, try the contract NPC. The payout is horrible, but you don't get cash anyway in practice mode. However, instead of that 5% boost, you get 30% on average. It also paid me enough cash, that I was able to buy boxes of skills. It works for any profession, just be prepared to make various schematics, not just one type. If you harvest everything yourself, and don't count what you could have sold the resources for, you do actually make a very tiny profit. Since I was hand sampling all my resources at the time, and hunting my own hides, I made a little cash. I mean like, after paying for my skill box, I might have made an entire 2k in profit!!! ( ROFL).

Yeah there are. They're just not in the game, and not exactly legal. Personally, I threw my ethics out the window on the issue when I saw that I had to make cartridge belts for over 30 hours in practice mode to get a single line.

/agree like a M.F.

is 30 hours of hitting F1 and doubleclicking really different from being afk?

Is it even considered playing?

If you are master armorsmith then maybe make a huge run of segements for 80% kinetic comp chestplates. I havent done the calculations but this would be the best armorsmith eay of getting xp and making money. You could even use up all your crappy resources and sell them on the bazaar for newbies.

I grinded mabari chest as well no macroing to do it. I ran 5 tools on practice spent 3 days getting materials mainly synthetic cloth. It took my 8 hours to grind it. I did it while drinking lots of alchohol and listening to heavy metal. Hope that helps
