Thread: Need MA to repair my armor?

Hi,

I've had conflicting opinions over this issue so thought I'd ask the question here.

I'm a wookiee wearing hunting armor. My chest plate is down to about 50% of original condition. Should I get a Master Armorsmith to repair my armor, or can I do it myself if I use the repair kit? Some people tell me that there is no noticable difference between a master armorsmith and just anyone, others say that there was a bug that made it seem this way, but this is no longer the case and that people who arent master armorsmiths will most likely get critical failures...What is the correct state of affiars regards this?

On a side note, is 50% a good time to get it repaired? Again I've had mixed opinions. Some say 30%, others say 50%, and yet others have suggested even higher...

Thanks,

Ato

It only depends on the tool. There is also some luck. If you buy a 100% tool there is still a chance of lossing condition. MA get no bonus.

Thanks for the reply.

What is meant by it depends on the tool? Does this mean say 100% tool will only slightly reduce the condition of armor after repair (with tiny chance of failure) no matter what the condition of my armor is reduced down to before reapairing it? For example, would the condition be less reduced if I repaired at 75%, rather than 25% using the same armor repair tool?

Also, do armor repair tools deteriate in condition, therefore requiring that you buy many to keep repairing your armor with a high rate tool?

Thanks again

well the longer you wait the more chance there is to fail, but the armor deterioration is based on the maximum condition rating. say that you chest plate is going to lose 5k condition if you get a good repair, so repairing at 10000/35000 would increase failure chance but doing it at 33000/35000 is just a waste. this number reduces as your repair your armor more and max cond is lowered.

ive always repaired at 50% (when the resists begin to drop) and it seems to work best. just dont get your hopes up, ive always used 100% tools and ive had more failures than i have sucesses with armor repair.

btw i dont think it matters if your tools loose condition (like if you die).

I was wondering if armor repair CAs work for non-AS too? Does anyone have experience with using them?
