Hi All,
I am a Master Armorsmith on Chimaera server and I have been experimenting over thes few days on composite and other models with rather good resources (Over 2100 Mal+OQ+SR) except Hides, and specially wooly hide that are bad quality at the moment.
At the moment I have orientated my research on a design of armors with LOW HAM COST and medium resists, so that people can get very light armors once sliced and use the full range of their special combat skills... My clients apreciate this type of armors but mostly all armorsmiths favor High resist and heavy armors.. so...
My questions are :
1 - Is the impact of UT on expérimentation and on the armor stats important?
2 - In what order you tend to expériment indurability, effectiveness and quality?
3- Wouldn't it be better to have an armor with Low HAM cost (with a 2nd possible reduction of ham cost by slicing) with medium resits?
4 - What isthe minimum of a TOP LEVEL resource for you ?
Mal + OQ = 1600, 1800 or more?
OQ + SR = 1600, 1800 or more?
OQ + UT = 1600, 1800 or more?
These are questions I'm working on at the moment and your ideas will be very helpfull.

I am only an MAS of a couple months experience, but I shall attempt answers from my understanding:
1. UT impacts armour condition. Take a look at the experimentation stats on the schematic for the armour. It gives you all you need.
2. I tend to experiment on Quality and then durability. Effectiveness is low in terms of bang-for-the-exp-point. Also, a point or two on durability often raises the electricity resist on composite for me anyway.
3. I makea range of suits with Low HAM costs. In fact, with a (roughly) 500 HAM suit I get 57% base resists (71% elec and 3 layers). I can drop the HAM to under 425 and get 32% base resists. However, there is simply not the demand. When I tell people about 65-67% they buy and go get buffed/talk to a chef.
4. The minimum I consider is OQ+SR=1800; I am extremely fussy. I am focusing purely on the highest resists I can make because I am a casual player and believe there is a very strong market on Kauri for high resists. I am only concerned with Mal/UT when I am making light suits. But to be honest, those stats count more in the layer and segment crafting stage. When I use some 1000 mal hide in the final craft and compare to the high OQ/SR stuff I have it doesnt seem to make any difference to HAM, but does drop the resists.
Cheerz,
Cayne

Thx for your insights)) And I'll continue to experiment)) and post in this tread))
So all of you that are trying to find the best options feel free to post as well..
So we can compare our tests..

Ive only been Master a short while aswell, my experince however is that from a pure profit point of view, Resist > HAM.
Ive made both high rests comp, and low HAM comp, and i got to admidt that the high resist sells way more easy.
Infact, i find that meny customers dont even care about the ham, or ask me what it actualy is befor buying it.
currently ime makeing composit with stats that are roughly BE: 52-55%, elec 59-62%, Kinetic 80%. and a fair HAM (abit high for my own taste, but hell
they are roughly 254/90/58.
And if i sell these sets at 400k i can sell them quite fast. (Faster then i can make them enyways)
About the exparimemtaion:
kinetic layers i do Spcial resist, and HAM. getting me a layer that is BE 1%, 9/9 encumb and 10% kinetic
Segments i go for BE and HAM, gettimg me something like, BE 21%, 34/36 encumb, 7% elec, 27% kentic.
final assembly, i do the same as on the segments.
be carefull when u do the final exparimentaion on the final pice of armor tho, u MUST do ham exp, and u must do it last due to a bug, the Resists whont update to their correct values until after the HAM exp is done!!!
Resourses, ime WERY picky with, and try to get SR+OQ 1800+, and a mall of 400+ when possible.
Ime also playing on Chimaera, so if u want your welcome to send a mail or a tell
