So this morning after server reboot, i was sitting in the launcher general chat.
There was a guy in there asking "How do i cancel my subscription? I can't find the option in the launcher"
This struck me odd as it has always been there by hitting the "My account" button before you enter in your username and password.
So i decided to check, sure enough it was gone, no option to change or cancel subscription.
Decided to check a bit further. went to starwarsgalaxies.com.. went to my account and about 3-4 links in i finally found the cancel subscription button.
Guess SOE thinks that if they hide the cancel subscription button that we will keep paying and playing.

I think they hid it around the time JTL hit. I've cancelled my subscription and came back 4 times now, I should know where it is.

Been that way since shortly after the second great exodus in april '04 when the devs announced that the mighty combat balance was being pushed back in favour of a jedi revamp and a path to jedi revamp. Every player who could care less about jedi and just wanted to count for something in combat, mainly unstacked pikeman and pistoleers and carbineers who didn't take BH all either left or threatened to leave. The devs narrowly avoided the first great exodus by activaing the jedi code and awarding a few people jedi as well as revealing the holocron path.
They didn't have an idea to avoid the second one so they just hid the cancel button. Oddly enough, if your account runs out you can't renew it through the launchpad either, you have to go through the website now, which aside from being confusing presents a security risk as your credit details are being input on the internet. yes the page is secure, noticed the little padlock in the corner, but when I went to renew a friends account with my card I realised that my credit details were saved in the browser a previous form field input, which drives me to question the security of that page. Previously we would input our details into the client side lanuchpad and they'd be sent in a single secure transfer to the accounting department.

Actually they just moved it to "Register Expansion", along with all billing information in the launcher.
And then one asks, "This is in the AS board because?"
