This one is pretty simple. I want to know how effective armor is behaving in PvE. Okram did a really great PvP study that's stickied that you can look at. I'll elaborate more here as I come up with it.

ok heres what i did to see what type of armor I wanted I tested battle, assault andscout in several situations I was a Combat level 80 when testing. I was master CM for healing and then master Rifle/Pistol/Carb respectively for the armor types. these where all frog armors. get with me to test Player made and I will rn same test for them. all tests where done unbuffed. with advanced forms of the armor type.

1st situation was PVE vs creatures that conned grey dealing kinetic Grizzled dewbacks.

No armor= took damage that I could regen/heal in one on one. when taking on 3 or more grey cons I was quickly overwhelemed as a CM i could not heal myself fast enough

Scout armor = 1 on one I took a small damge amount easily regened. no need for healing. against more than 5 I began to take damage enough that i had to heal but was never incapped even when taking on 9 grizzled dewbacks

Battle = same as a above but even better protection and less need for healing

Assault = No need for healing untill i was taking on 4 or more at a time.

2nd situation taking on grey con ranged attackers. Jawas and tuskens at teh crawler battle on Tat

Unarmored = I got my but chewed and handed to me. even one on one the jawas and the tuskens could make me use heals to stay alive.

Scout = Jawas I could take out without healing even when they numbered up to 4 or 5 tho I would need to heal afterwards. the tuskens. I could not tell if they where doing kinetic or energy. I think its mixed bag with them. but they hit harder than the jawasa and with just two on me I needed to heal frequently

Battle = it was what they say it is supposed to be here. the middle ground. it was effective against both allowing me t take up to 2-3 of each type before i had to start healing

Assault = for ranged combat it was better than no armor. if i had more than two of either I was reaching for the bacta spray.

Final test was in PVE versus CL 100+ troopers. yeah I know I went reb on TC bad ray... anyways. teh ST's conned purple at 100+ and so I wanted to see if armor helped me fight above my level....

Unarmored = yeah rite I look stupid??? well I was. and it was the pridictable result. 2 shots incapped spent some time in my local clone center.

Scout = kept me alive alot longer. in fact i had a 122 trooper down to a 1/3 of its health from dots and pistol specials. then the punk went melee on me and kicked my butt. a subsequent test did the same thing. and on the third shot with scout I actually was able to take a CL 122 trooper but only cause i repeatedly rooted his but and kited like a mofo. and lots of healing

Battle= Similar results to Scout but I was never able to kill the trooper. tho I came close. I figure this was due to when I rooted him he switched to ranged and did more than he did with the scout armor. the upside was I was a carb and he never got into melee with me but one time. and that one time he did similar damage to when I was wearing scout armor. i could see no visible added melee protection. I put this off to the fact he was using a melee weapon and it could have been doing energy damage.

Assault= well with this I was abble to win 2 out of 4 times. I won cause if they switched to melee I was able to out damage them and resisted alot of the pounding they dished out. I lost cause they chose to stay at range and never closed to melee. Assault helped alot in melee against the troopers. I was able to notice a significant reduction in kinetic melee attack damage. and the assault armor gave nominal ranged resistance tho they where able to wear me down faster.

on the whole I found armor very useful in PVE. even when hunting things that gave me 1 XP. I feal your pain on the resource costs and other issues you guys have. but I believe that with your feedback they will listen to the important ones befre it goes live and balance them out. you still make a viable product. and tho the experimentation is simplistic. it is still there. armor will be a needed thing. you may not need the 12 pt tapes tobe a great AS rite now. but you are still going to be needed.

I didnt save any logs. as I did this for my own edification. and just saw your post on the valcyn forums calie. thats why its in discroptive not numeric language. if you want me to repeat the tests just send me an IM.

Good work Raylyyn, seems like they have tweaked the level damage multipliers. Did you notice whether the combat log and overhead damage were identical, or whether you had any unexpected "regen" ticks?

the combat log and overhead where still off a bunch. as to ticks. I was lagging so horrid on TC-EP3 when I di d this I could not say really. but yes the overhead seemed innaccurrate and I /bugged it at the time. but here again it could have been due to the lag.
