For the life of me I cannot understand why a "combat upgrade" has to totallyFUBAR the AS profession. I mean here we are asking for another organic reduction or even just a non-named organics. I'm sorry but 15k resources for a suit of armor is absurd!
Bring the non-layered cores back down to 2600 and layered to 4500. OR at least present a logical explaination of why the CU entails such a HUGE resource increaseand a total revamp of the resources needed.
Negating the usefulness of our existing resources in addition to the huge new requirements in addition to the named organics serves no purpose that I can see other than leveling out the AS'es (screwing over hard working AS'es).
Sorry for my rant, I just think it is rather sad that we are asking to be tossed a bone when we are getting hosed so badly.

You points are very valid and Rant-worthy. The Devs have posted my they increased our Organics requirements:
Since the Docs no longer need Organics in huge numbers they increased out resource needs to now Nerf the Rangers and scouts. We where Quote "The Logical choice".
I think/hope/pray that we will still see a slight reduction in organics prior to Live. If we reduce the total resources to 'at least' the Layers by 25% AND change named resources on all Adv Cores (basic and standard are currently generic) to non-named requirements: Leathery Hide instead of Lokian Leathery; this will go a long way to helping out our costs and needs.
It will also allow us to lower our skyrocketing armor costs and these changes will not directly impact Rangers to a strong degree.
We may want to bring this to the Ranger Corr and see about getting his support.

Oh I agree the non-named would help the situation. But increasing the layered suit requirements times 4 and unlayered times 2 is what I'm on about.
Lets assume though that they leave the named organics. It will be a huge buying frenzie when something good spawns and then nothing for a long time. This seller's market of good, named organics will drive up the price of these organics even more, as if 100cpu isn't already enough.
100cpu isn't a far fetched number for the price of great resources. People pay it all the time. Sometimes even MORE. So with the current resource requirements we're looking at a cost of resources alone at over 400k for one unlayered suit and over 1,500,000 for a layered suit.

Something else to remember is that not all armoursmiths are multi millionaires... I certainly am not. Increasing the organics does make sense from the perspectives/reasons I've read. But not by that amount please....
I reality this would do nothing to level the playing field between long term established and starter-upper (I goal I agree with). The top guys can buy up every unit from every ranger/scout, leaving the rest to scrabble for titbits at the table.
Don't look at me for a suggestion though - I'm working on something else atm

Ive had a few days to conteplate the statement that blix made on why the resources were increased. Allthough I can understand his concerns for the scouting community, he forgets that chef and bio engineering will still use scouts as well. So in essence, they didnt really lose the docs, its just that its now part of the bio. So, please after careful review, his response, allthough Im glad we got one, is poppycock.

I agree. Doc crafting was moved to BE. It didn't go away. And even if this is the reason for the organic increase it doesn't explain the inorganic situation at all.

Also, what needs to be factored in is that collecting resources will be alot tougher if a master pike/master armorsmith on testcenter gets slaughtered by two level 54 critters, how is a master ranger/fighter going to collect the wild amount of hides we will be needing. I hate the idea of being forced to group, it is wrong, guess we may see some ranger guilds in the future. I don't see a bright future in this game though, every aspect sounds bleak, dispite all the slick propaganda that had us so excited about it. Hoping for some big changes before it goes live.

Oh and do it after May 5th, so they can actually see why.

They did not remove it. It's under "Register Expansion" now, along with all other account info.

Either way, it's underhanded... I don't like the games SOE is playing all around. Well, 3 accounts cancelled so far.... 2 more hanging in the balance...
