Thread: Crafters working with Dathomir
i have been there 4 times now, placing mines, recovering resources etc, and only got incapped once (and that was me not paying attention). my tips:
get two or three bikes (spares if first few blowup)
drive on flattest routes missing places where trees might spawn to get in your way - this way most spawns will spawn behind you. occasionally they might agro you, but by the time they do you'll be out of attack range anyhow (ive not seen rancors with speeders....yet)
all spawns have a 'safe' radius round them - they have a central spawn point where the MOBs appear at and the next spawn is often 120m away min. this give you a little range to keep out of just about all agro ranges even if the spawns are all round you.
if you have a mine with a spawn on it or near then approach very slowly on your bike, not directly at either - so you can make quick get away if need be - the slower you go the less likely you get agro'd. i made it to within 20m of a nightsiter camp of more than 20 MOBS with no agro going slowly and sat there operating my mine. make sure the reticle thingy is open too, so you can operate the mine at maximum range.
use /paymaintenance 10000
/depositepower 10000
for quick deposites of power and money - even done on the move if you're fast enough
with alittle care and some planning you can move about dath or any high level planet with ease.
good luck

ftw!!!!
thats exactly how i've handled harvesting on hostile worlds for ever now. as a non-combat both post and pre-CU... thats it right there. nail head, meet hammer!
a little bit of thought can solve any problem
Good information ...
Very rarely do I have problems placing the harvesters ...
The problem ALWAYS occurs AFTER I place them and I need to come back and collect from them. So far, I have not found a Slash command that allows me to open the hopper, select the resource I want and then pick it up into inventory.
Sitting still for that period of time allows you to get smacked hard.
On a side note, before CU, I had to get people to clear out issues like that one. Now, 50% of the time, I can lay the smackdown on the mobs myself.

just like to say, against my initial fears that putting mines on dath with a low level or non-combat player is not as hard as it might at first seem.

Want to add another important note (forgive me if someone already has I didn't read the replies).
You can maintain your harvesters while incapped AND while dead. I've had considerable practice lately with both. I've learned to pause about 100 m from my harvesters, wait a few seconds, then proceed. Never fails now. If you are a Bio Engineer and you've spent months looking for that rare creature simply follow a level 1 crafter to his/her harvester. In all my time in SWG on Endor I've NEVER seen a real Gurreck. I've seen a number of them now, they seem to be particularly fond of my harvesters ![]()
/pay 30000;/addpow 30000;/pause 2;/structurestatus
Unfortunately, there's no slash command for "Operate Machinery"
