First off, let me state I am not an AS, soI do not have the level of sophistication that an experienced crafter does. As such, I beg you be kind to me, and if you think you're oversimplifying, I probably won't.

I have an interwoven ris schematic, and the hide, bones, and scales. I am now working to obtain ns layers and janta hides. I am attempting to get a suit with 80% protections, and I am not very concerned with HAM costs.

1. As I understand it, ns shards and janta layers are interchangeable, one giving lower ham, the other giving higher resists. Correct?

2. What is the benefit of using a crafted layer? Why not use all crafted layers, or all ns layers that are high quality?

Please feel free to include any and all info not adressed here. Yes, I have done a forum search, but nothing I saw responded to these questions directly. I think it's cuz you guys know the answers already. Thanks much!

base on NS layers is much higher. the best crafted layer will only have 5% (and thats PERFECT, realistically you are looking at 4.x) and that would suffer a large dent to kinetic.

you can get some nice NS layers with 10%+ base, and those work great, and make the HAM cost better (whether you care about it or not)
