Hi folks -
I decided I would set out to make a RIS helm designed for PvP. Unlike Skinny, I decided that having the acid hole filled was important to me... I know that anyone smart who sees an RIS helmet on the battlefield is going to pull out the acid rifle.
Seemed to me the best way to do this was using krayt scales. So I set out to find the best acid resist krayt scales I could find.
Ingredients:
- 1 krayt scale: 18% acid, 5-7% other stats
- 1 12% NS layer
- 2 double amazing stun layers with stun maxed
- 6% yellow cube
I split experimentation between kinetic and base, maxing kinetic first. I had good rolls on the segment (amazing on both)
I have the best RIS resources available on Tempest to my knowledge.
Here's how it turned out: (screenshot)
43940 condition
80% kinetic
80% energy
80% blast
80% heat
80% cold
79% Electricity (bah)
19% acid
26% stun
Vulnerable only to lightsaber.
ham:
65
60
212
I think it is a good compromise between wanting alot of stun resist and having good acid protection, and good base.

It still boogles my mind that scales from a creature from an acid soaked planet make acid vulnerable armor.
Very nice work tho thanks for the details.

You mean GDKs come from an acid soaked planet (lok)? Is the volcano an acid volcano? hehe.

actual all that dirty water is really supposed to be acid
very nice helmet although I'm not sure how much 19% acid would help against the medium AP of the dxr6-b rifle.

You're definitely right Kron. if someone decides to go after the RIS guy it will still hurt, but at least it won't be instant death. It's a compromise no matter how you try to make a PvP RIS helmet.

You should see Frenzi's suit on the Radiant server - 80% across the board RIS, including acid, and also some stun in there.
Of course, he also used legendary Krayt scales,

He spends a lot of time on the radiant trade forum - you might want to flag him down there and ask him.
