I am curious as well. though would explain a few issues I've came across (impending cross over thread from the Scales, shards and hide topic). Ihave mostly made armor that has a green title or a white title. Now I know when I've done my tailoring in Artisan, that when I had green named Items, it had alot of sockets ( 1 or more, I never seen the fabled yellow title that posting was talking about).

I have come across Krayt and other armor enhancer type loot drops ( NS shards, Rancor and Janta hides, Voiltor scales) where the name is green. this has become an interesting issue because I'd make a seg with the said scale, then plop the require

As for IF speicals get unlocked due to greenyellow text, I'd love to know too. I'd have to check my stash to see if I have at least two I can experiment with to see if I can trigger anthing. So far I've yet to make armor with sockets. Maybe I also need my other resources to be high end as well.

I've crossed this with many different items. If you create or loot something with Yellow text it means that it in some way is different (usually better) than a standard item of the same type. Here are some examples:

Clothing and armor: Any clothing or armor made with sockets will have Yellow text since looted clothing never has socket. Also, if a piece of clothing or armor has any stat/condition or skill mods above a standard piece of the same clothing or armor it will have yellow text.

Weapons: If you loot a Tusken Rifle and it has white text it will be the same for every other Tusken rifle you ever loot with white text. If you get one with yellow text match up each stat on the rifles and at least one will be different. Same goes for NS Lances and vibro lances or any other weapon that you loot. I've never seen a yellow crafted weapon.

Subcomponents: All subcomponents have a base value. For NS Layers it's 3% Base and -5 Action. NS Shards are -10/-10/-10 HAM. Krayt Tissues are 30 Max Damage -0.3 spd. Janta Blood are 10 charges/100 power. Janta Hides are 3%Base. Rancor Bile is 5 power and 70 charges (I think). Essentially if you loot any subcomponent that has greater values than these ONLY THE FIRST ONE will have yellow text. The others will have white text. I don't know why it's that way but it is.

I hope this helps alleviate a little confusion.

Totaly, (I was just at work when I typed out so I going by off the top of my head). but here is a mystery;

5 subcomponents that are the same serial, same stat, except 1 has green text for a name ( maybe I should check my settings cause am not seeing any yellow text). I do up group of 4 seg ( with 1 part for the schematic).. run it through the wearables factory. come back and find only one crate has been made ( this is after letting it run over night). I have found that when I use a white text sub component for shematic, and leave the green one with the remainning 3 for a crate, I'd actualy get a full crate of 4.

as for the green ( or yellow armor) I haven't noted any difference. because I'd use the same resources and do the same experimentation drop.

Curious.

Hmm, I haven't run across that phenomenon before but I will keep an eye out for it. That would explain one anomaly when I was making stun segments with 4% janta hide. I didn't get the appropriate number of segs in my crate. Thanks for the insight. I'll make sure to never use the yellow text component in my factory schematic.
