Hello Commando peoples, I was contemplating dabbling in your enjoyable profession and I had some questions. 1st I was thinking about picking up only the Heavy weapons support line, I noticed all the speed mods for those weapons are in there, and none in the master box. I was wondering if any of you have dabbled in big speed tapes + the FS speed skills (from the looks of it, the melee speed line for now). According to my calculations the heavy rocket launcer & Heavy Particle beam can get up to 97 speed; which should pretty much cap them.
However I don't if the FS speed mod works with those weapons, didn't see any posts, just about the Flame-Thrower. And I'm also not sure if the Heave weapons speed mod works for those either. Glanced through some of the stickied posts, didn't see anythin'.
Anywho, if anybody has some answers, or conjecture, or a funny hand drawn picture of a dancing monkey, I would be most interested.

Right now i wouldnt bother, save your skill points for other, more useful things. Your better off with just swordsman for right now, might wanna check back around the combat balance...

Altho if you want it for the FUN factor (and maybe by picking up heavyweapons like the rocket laucher.. a WS might want to make more on your server, can't hurt) it's not bad... you can have fun as you calculate how much it's costing you every shoot tho!! I always like that one.. like it cost me 25k to take down my last ATST (altho solo, would not cost that much with a mate tanking don't worry
)
And if anything else... you get 4 different damage types to boot (not counting that you can now use a flamerthrower... ALTHOUGH you won't hit a Bantha 2 meters from you
)
FUN yes.. any real use NO!
As for the FS question.. at the moment your guess is as good as ours
sad but true

dont know if this was stated, iwas real quick to answer before lookin cuz i know hehe
Speed mods dont work for us
FS ranged mods are bugged and dont work for anybody
Hopefully this gets fixed. The AAs and CAs for us will probably be fixed for us whenever the CB comes out

If you want to waste lots of sp to dabble in a patheticaly neglected profesion go nuts, if you want to actualy be able to play this game then choose well anything which doesnt go bang, boom, or zap.
Im now a former commando, i used to enjoy it till i counted up the sp and looked at how a did in pvp against people who spent half the sp as me.

Thanks for the responses guys, I suppose playing commando will have to wait for another day. *sniff* speed capped rocket launcher would have been tight though.

Just in passing, has anyone ever done some extensive testing on this? For instance, if someone on Valcyn has a +20 or greater Heavy Weapons Speed attachment, I could borrow for the course of an evening for scientific research I'd be willing to pick up some commando skills for the occasion, and procure the weapondry =)

The S.E.As do not work at all, they are generic (Heavy Weapon Speed, Heavy Weapon Accuracy). The weapons use specific skills, (Flamer Thrower Speed, Flamethrower Accuracy).
The only one I THINK works is Grenade Accuracy. ![]()

Special protection can't be sliced to 90%, effectivness can. Other than that, the protections are equal as is.

Most likely that 80% comes from a slice so 80% is 80%, they protect the same.
